Lilly is not just generic, she's just really bland and dull as a character, there was nothing remotely interesting in her character, it was common Mary Sue at its best.
She's not obnoxious, certainly, but she's just uninteresting for me, no amount of fake fairytale style romance can hope to be as interesting as a relatable story like the 4 others.

And Rin is very straightforward, in a very weird way, sure, but that's exactly why I like her so much.
