I'm not really surprised some people still play HoN despite the f2p stuff they did. I assume they're sticking around (the pro players I mean) for what little money is left in tourneys.
I know I was bad when it came to my mood in HoN, but luckily I shaped myself up in Dota 2. I still have anxiety when joining matchmaking type games though.
LoL is okay, never was my cup of tea, but easy for people to play or get into, so no wonder it's so popular. But also a moneysink or grind for heroes and junk. (30$ for a skin wut are you serious) I also found it hilarious how the devs for it decide what is "fun" for the players, see the stealth rework for some of their heroes, etc.
(Really, they call invoker not fun to play or learn at all. I know players balk at all his spells and stuff, but once you get his basics down he's real simple to play and real fun and rewarding. Same for stuff like pudge's hooks which can be used to save allies or drag enemies in compared to that LoL one I forgot about with the grapple arm thing with incredibly short range.)
Also, I see Piece is still coming back despite being "down" on himself and disliking this place
