That is exactly what he does in the first few minutes, so even if people do not have the time to listen to this entire theory, they should at least know that the most popular solution is wrong. I, too, have been waiting for someone here to try to refute it, but all I have seen is stuff like "good job with your discrete logic that you just learned in your first day of college kid" and other ad hominem attacks that are irrelevant and fail to address the very strong points of his intricate argument.

I would not worry about the opinions of most people here. As you have no doubt seen, this place is devoted to discussing anything but Umineko nowadays and nothing much of value is said. In fact, many of the users have not even read Umineko, which should be surprising for a board named after it. At least I think everyone here has read some of it.

Back in the day we used to have a /theories/ board, and I posted my own Rosatrice theory there long before all the Shkanontrice stuff picked up, although it was not nearly as detailed as this one. Personally, I suspect that the board no longer exists because the owner of this site sees Shkanontrice as solving Umineko with no further theorizing possible. Said owner has not even finished reading Umineko despite my constant urges for him to do so, I think that's a classic case of not following the number 1 rule: don't stop thinking.

Then again, someone who hasn't read it all might be more open to reason in regards to this, since a lot of the final episodes is dedicated to the false solution that Ryuukishi07 is determined to pull over everyone's eyes.

He tells us to not stop thinking, then at the end turns around as give a speech on why it is fine to give up. Basically the premise right there.

I don't agree with his theory, especially the whydunnit which was just a painful attempt at tying loose strings together to form a coherent story, which failed.
But it does prove how the Shkannontrice is wrong, which is something I thought from the first time I heard this absurd theory.

I don't really have my own belief on the culrit, but I think we won't find it without finding a correct whydunnit beforehand.

Still the guy did put a lot of effort into his videos, it's not bullshit he came up with, too bad the whydunnit was so terrible.

The problem with that guy is than he takes red truth as if they were premises in a logic argument. In his eyes they are completely true, and there's no way to bend through them. Except if they are bad for his own theory, then they are evil wordplay tricks.

That guy is insane, and if you look at his other videos, it seems he gains pleasure from "telling ignorant people to die" in other areas.

For the record, the reason Shkannontrice is so widely accepted is not because of red against blue, logic errors, or any silliness like that~

It is because of the storytelling in episodes 6, 7, and 8. The narrative does not make sense unless you accept Shkannontrice as truth, unless you believe these episodes to be tremendous red herrings and outright lies, which I find rather disrespectful to the writer (even worse than assuming the writing is simply bad)~ Episode 6 focuses majorly on the competing personalities of Shannon and Kanon, but there would be no point to this conflict unless they were the same person~ Episode 7 goes into detail how and why Yasu adopted multiple personalities in the back story~ Episode 8 is pretty much the finality, with the declaration that Kanon ceases to exist when Shannon dies~

There is but one answer that is consistent with these three tales, without a massive break in logic and willing ignorance~

Because that's my opinion, considering Ryukishi07 couldn't write Umineko by himself - he was chained by his fans who wanted him to write what they want. They threatened him to boycott the entire series if he didn't make the EP3 easier (confirmed in a interview, if anyone want it, look for Answer to the Golden Witch).

In his attempt to follow his storyline and fan's plots, he lost himself and his initial proposal. You can't say Chiru follow exactly the initial proposal - it became another thing, almost a different story.

I think, yes, 'the writing is simply bad', because if I said more, I could actually offend someone. I respect someone who can says 'the writing is simply wonderful'. But it not make my tastes.

...but I agree. Shkanontrice is canon. Even if a person with multiple personality disorder could be easily discovered by a group of people stranded on an island for nearly six years, Shkanontrice is the only thing that makes sense, unfortunately.
