Tuna is superior to salmon in terms of weight:protein and works out to cost around the same per gram as WPI.

I've never had a lucid dream where I felt in control, despite realizing I'm dreaming before. Dreams are mostly horrifying or confusing. If lucid dreaming was so great, it'd be a much bigger deal. Because it's like being God.

If I had the choice to never need to eat or sleep, I would take it.

Isn't a pain to work out the exact amounts of micro/macronutrients you in particular need to get from eating for optimum function? What happens if you mess up and half your liver melts. Such a hassle. It'd be better if the body just ran off oxygen and left it at that. Besides, food is a waste of money. It wouldn't improve the situation if everyone didn't eat, but if only I didn't need to eat, then I'd have the upper hand.

Is it really so strange? I don't really like either of those things myself. I always find myself wishing there were more hours in the day so that I'd be able to get done everything it is that I want to do without having to waste as much time sleeping when I could be doing one of countless other enjoyable things. As for dreams, well, I can't remember a single dream I've had in the past 10 years that wasn't a nightmare.
Food, I've never really liked. Most of it doesn't really taste like much of anything to me, so I just end up eating whatever's "healthy" without really caring about the taste. To me, it's just another meaningless ritual that keeps me going.

They'd just be a bunch of notes about dreams someone else had.

I don't think keeping notes would actually help you remember dreams. Eventually, your only memories would be from the notes. So your experience of the dream is akin to your imagining of another author's work. Am I wrong?

There's a reason people have nightmares.

It has to do with what you think and all that. What are you guys even thinking? It must not be positive.

My friend used to have nightmares all the time when he was horribly depressed. His loved one pulled him out of that ditch.

It's not like you can take photographs. Memories, even those you think you'll never forget, are distorted by time and suggestion anyway, so if you write it down, you're more likely to get it right.

I'm too grimdark to be positive. And personally, I ignore dreams and hold them to be of no significance, even in general terms. If I took them to be reflections of my own thoughts, then I hardly know myself.

>>48753
For memories in general, I agree. But it seems to me that memories of dreams can't be put in the same category. They are much more volatile, and can disappear in minutes after waking. Or even before waking. Or maybe the dream was such a vague experience and the vague memories take after that. Writing down might help you remember what you wrote down, but not the dream that made you write it down, I think. I haven't tried it.

Right, but stopping purely at the "theory" stage is meaningless if you don't do anything with it. What I mean is, I'm reluctant to rely on something that's purely speculation and either has not, or can not, be applied or tested in a way that provides consistent and reliable results with which to build an understanding around.
I just have little interest in the purely theoretical if there's no practical application for it, that's all.

We were talking about theories on the nature of reality. If you say you don't really 'get' theorizing about fiction then I wouldn't react the same way.

However, your own understanding of a work is your theory of it. So therefore, while reading Umineko for instance, I think every reader is theorizing. It's just the level on which they are prepared to do it that differs.

For a moment I thought you were saying that you pay 1000 a month for your connection, and then I thought you were saying your setup fee was that. Because your PC itself shouldn't really be a factor in connection speed.

I meant that I probably pay more a month.

Irrelevant, but my computer cost me much, much more than that, even though we both built them ourselves. I'm embarrassed to say how much, but it's because parts cost so much here and I went overboard.

It's also several years old, so it probably isn't even worth 1k anymore.

I sort of know how you feel, though it's not as bad in my case. Over here computer-related stuff can be pretty damn expensive as well.
This one that I'm currently running should have cost about 950 USD at the time (~610 GBP), but for various reasons ended up costing 1200 USD (~770 GBP). That's excluding the cost of monitor, keyboard, and the other couple HDDs I've had to buy for it. Needless to say those parts have already become noticeably cheaper since then.

Mine was fairly recent at least, so besides maybe getting an SSD soon I shouldn't need to upgrade anything in particular for a while. I actually went overboard when I bought the parts anyway, getting a CPU I didn't need and a GTX 560 Ti GPU when the most GPU-intensive games I play are VNs and PS2 game emulations.
I guess I just went a bit overboard because I was glad to finally be moving away from my laptop that could barely play 1080p anime without choking that I'd had to suffer using for 3 years while I saved up money for my PC. Well, at least because of that it'll likely last me a good while yet.

Funnily enough, now that I'm leeching off the government I can save up enough money to buy everything in this PC over again in 3-4 months if I cut back on food money. Fresh meat is expensive you see, but it's healthy so I try to eat it at least two or three times a week if possible.

At the time I bought it I was playing lots of high-intensity games, but I haven't in a while now. I usually buy my games, and I just haven't bought any recently. Starting to feel like it's a waste. So watching 1080p anime is about the demanding thing I do.

Leeching of the government is the NEET way. Unfortunately, you can't get very much here unless you classify as an independent, and I think that's hard to do unless you're over 25, despite the fact that taken in the literal sense, I am independent. You can get assistance with your rent beyond that as well, but it's not easy. Well, maybe I do qualify now because there's not really an acceptable home I can return to if I didn't live on my own.

Yeah. Specifically, DLA (Disability Living Allowance) for £180 GBP a month, and ESA (Employment and Support Allowance) for £200 GBP every 2 weeks. Altogether it comes out at ~£580 GBP a month, so about $900 USD I guess.

I have a Wii, and a 3DS, and two DSlites. I only ever buy Nintendo consoles, you see. I don't want to miss Zelda or Pokemon stuff. In fact, I think one of the last games I bought was Skyward Sword.

I've missed out on all those Japanese PS and sometimes xbox exclusive series that everyone seems to love, but it can't be helped. I can't really justify buying two more extremely low-end PCs just for the opportunity to pay even more to try out those.

I'll have to get Black + White 2, how troublesome. They don't come out for a while though, and I think I won't buy them right away. I actually came really late to the fourth generation of Pokemon despite buying 2nd and 3rd gen games as soon as they came out, because I didn't have a DS until I bought HeartGold.

Nintendo consoles have a few good game series on them, so I can see why you'd be buying them. I'd have a DS myself if I could think of at least 5 games I'd regularly play on it, but I don't really want to buy one for a single game and then shelf it to start collecting dust.
Funnily enough, the only things I'd consider buying a PS3 or Xbox 360 for are mostly either iDOLM@STER 2 and console versions of VNs like Cross†Channel and Majikoi R. I hear the PS3 version of Majikoi actually has a new mahjong mini-game, it makes me pretty jealous of people who bought it.

As for Pokemon, excluding Heart Gold, I haven't really played any of them after Ruby/Leaf Green. Black & White 1 & 2 actually look really good though, I might even consider getting a DS for them at some point.

I'm not sure about B+W1, though. It's been a while since I played, but I think I enjoyed 4th gen more. Maybe because there aren't enough games out yet. THE iDOLM@STER 2 is a game that I really want to play once my Japanese gets a bit better, because I loved the anime and the music is just fantastic. All of the idols are great characters, but Yayoi is my favourite of them. Chihaya and Takane are also high up there, and Mami is a really fun character. Some of Azusa's songs like Futari no Kioku and the obvious Tonari ni... are really great. Makoto's voice is incredible, and she's a good character all-around.

Alright. First, you fly out to the UK. Then, you find David Cameron and tell him that "John Smith" is a fraud. He'll call you a muttering idiot and the news will explode over it, then he'll later apologize without the problem being resolved at all.
That's how the government works over here.

>>48827
Iori and Miki are good characters, too. Iori is one of Kugyuu's better roles, and Miki is a fun character with some good upbeat songs. Her cover songs of Suimin Fusoku and sugar sweet nightmare are good, the former especially. Her voice suits it really well.

Yeah, the original is definitely better. I think Miki's voice isn't very well suited to it, and yet she sings it quite well anyway, which is what I like about it. Now, a good Bakemonogatari song from that same CD would be Yumi Hara's cover of staple stable. I think I might even prefer it to the original, though it's hard to say.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pe9n7BpI4iw
Kugyuu's Ren'ai circulation and Numakura's ambivalent world are also pretty good.

Mayako Nigo's Kaerimichi is okay, but singing was never Yayoi's strong point outside of a handful of specific songs.

I don't have a very strong opinion of Azusa either way, but goddamn if 3A07 doesn't play my heart like a fiddle every time I watch it. She has a few really amazing songs, too.

I still feel like China is the best all-around Civ for warring~ Paper Markets are just great buildings, the double-strength Great Generals are quite welcome, and Chu-Ko-Nus are excellent for either attack or defense (plus they can upgrade to Gatling guns or machine guns that can attack twice, which are VERY potent). After I held off the initial rush from Ethiopia I basically stomped the AI on King difficulty~

One unit per tile still creates some headaches, but it also produces a very large emphasis on positioning, which is a trade-off that I'm uncertain of. I think at least they could let non-combat units stack on a tile with other non-combat units.
