Tuna is superior to salmon in terms of weight:protein and works out to cost around the same per gram as WPI.

I've never had a lucid dream where I felt in control, despite realizing I'm dreaming before. Dreams are mostly horrifying or confusing. If lucid dreaming was so great, it'd be a much bigger deal. Because it's like being God.

If I had the choice to never need to eat or sleep, I would take it.

Isn't a pain to work out the exact amounts of micro/macronutrients you in particular need to get from eating for optimum function? What happens if you mess up and half your liver melts. Such a hassle. It'd be better if the body just ran off oxygen and left it at that. Besides, food is a waste of money. It wouldn't improve the situation if everyone didn't eat, but if only I didn't need to eat, then I'd have the upper hand.

Is it really so strange? I don't really like either of those things myself. I always find myself wishing there were more hours in the day so that I'd be able to get done everything it is that I want to do without having to waste as much time sleeping when I could be doing one of countless other enjoyable things. As for dreams, well, I can't remember a single dream I've had in the past 10 years that wasn't a nightmare.
Food, I've never really liked. Most of it doesn't really taste like much of anything to me, so I just end up eating whatever's "healthy" without really caring about the taste. To me, it's just another meaningless ritual that keeps me going.

They'd just be a bunch of notes about dreams someone else had.

I don't think keeping notes would actually help you remember dreams. Eventually, your only memories would be from the notes. So your experience of the dream is akin to your imagining of another author's work. Am I wrong?

There's a reason people have nightmares.

It has to do with what you think and all that. What are you guys even thinking? It must not be positive.

My friend used to have nightmares all the time when he was horribly depressed. His loved one pulled him out of that ditch.

It's not like you can take photographs. Memories, even those you think you'll never forget, are distorted by time and suggestion anyway, so if you write it down, you're more likely to get it right.

I'm too grimdark to be positive. And personally, I ignore dreams and hold them to be of no significance, even in general terms. If I took them to be reflections of my own thoughts, then I hardly know myself.

>>48753
For memories in general, I agree. But it seems to me that memories of dreams can't be put in the same category. They are much more volatile, and can disappear in minutes after waking. Or even before waking. Or maybe the dream was such a vague experience and the vague memories take after that. Writing down might help you remember what you wrote down, but not the dream that made you write it down, I think. I haven't tried it.

If I even tried to do something like that, it would quickly turn into a horror novel the likes of which would leave Stephen King afraid to turn the lights off at night.

I once read a theory that dreams are the brain's way of sorting through one's memories, to decide which ones to keep and which to discard. If this is true, then that would probably explain it.

Freud, Jung, Zhang, I'm pretty sure it was one of those guys anyway. I couldn't quote a source, but it is one theory on it.

I've heard the same thing. I don't have an opinion on its truthfulness.

The best thing about dreams is waking up to realize that they were only dreams.

I've always found theory making "odd". It reminds me of tinfoil hats too much. Don't forget the paranoia. Always the paranoia.

But that's just my experience. Theories can be used for the good of science and such. My reasoning should not be taken seriously.

Well, I don't usually like to fall back to theories anyway if I can help it. I prefer concrete, provable - or at the very least testable - information over some dead old guy's speculation on things.

Most things can't be truly proven. You need a theory to tie evidence together, it won't do anything by itself. And then you can test your theory vigorously to see if it holds.

You can barely even have knowledge without theory.

I'm not angry, I just think it was stupid.

Perhaps your concept of theory is different. A theory isn't inherently baseless.

Right, but stopping purely at the "theory" stage is meaningless if you don't do anything with it. What I mean is, I'm reluctant to rely on something that's purely speculation and either has not, or can not, be applied or tested in a way that provides consistent and reliable results with which to build an understanding around.
I just have little interest in the purely theoretical if there's no practical application for it, that's all.

We were talking about theories on the nature of reality. If you say you don't really 'get' theorizing about fiction then I wouldn't react the same way.

However, your own understanding of a work is your theory of it. So therefore, while reading Umineko for instance, I think every reader is theorizing. It's just the level on which they are prepared to do it that differs.

I don't mind theorizing fiction like how I mind reality. One can make you look crazy , the other just makes you look relatively normal in most cases.

However, sometimes it's impossible to move beyond that stage, so that it becomes an indivisible issue of opinion.

>>48773
Once in a while, you have to put up with looking crazy in order to make progress, because it just so happens that everyone else is wrong. That doesn't mean that theories are crazy, because the reason they view your theory as crazy is because they have deeply invested in another theory.
