I'm too grimdark to be positive. And personally, I ignore dreams and hold them to be of no significance, even in general terms. If I took them to be reflections of my own thoughts, then I hardly know myself.

For memories in general, I agree. But it seems to me that memories of dreams can't be put in the same category. They are much more volatile, and can disappear in minutes after waking. Or even before waking. Or maybe the dream was such a vague experience and the vague memories take after that. Writing down might help you remember what you wrote down, but not the dream that made you write it down, I think. I haven't tried it.
