I don't pay attention to /gameboard/ because it has nothing to do with me. No offense towards the people who put in all that hard work making gameboards or the contestants, but I don't poke my nose into those things when I'm not explicitly invited as a primary player. I'm selfish like that.

Not that you guys needed to know that, but I'm throwing it out there anyway.

One of the top videos on YouTube was for an "undetectable Diablo III bot". That's not a good way to draw attention to yourself. You're going to have to find the stuff yourself like the rest of us or you can find a new game.

>>46964
I know that Warden is currently up and running but the two major bots already get around it and can't be detected by it. Thought it's still good to see people getting banned.

As for the Inferno nerf, I don't know how to feel about it. IMO they should just nerf the champion packs and buff the bosses.

At most, I'd say the champions/elites could do with less HP. Otherwise they shouldn't be taken away since they're kind of... Iconic-ish at this point. Buffing the bosses, on the other hand, I'm all for. Otherwise there's no reason to fight them again after killing them all, even with that whatsitsname buff. If you beat Diablo on Inferno, where's your motivation to challenge him again?

I don't think they're just doing bot-banning via warden. I'm sure it's not nailing every exploiter but it might help the economy a bit~ They say "several thousand" accounts were banned. http://us.battle.net/d3/en/forum/topic/5740846683 I dunno, it worked pretty well in FFXI~

I don't really care about legendaries, I don't see why everyone's "best gear" should be exactly the same set of legendary items~ I rather liked the idea that a well-rolled rare can be better than legendaries. With that said, legendary weapons almost all suck now, but it's not as bad as it seems because there's plenty of good legendary/set armor~

Anyways, it's not elite packs I'm all that concerned about, though some of the more annoying affixes could be reviewed (Invulnerable Minions needs to be taken out into a corner and shot). I'm just tired of getting killed in 2-3 hits by NORMAL MONSTERS with ~35k HP and ~600 resists in act 2 Inferno as a Demon Hunter~ I don't want to play the glass cannon game. I think that's a stupid play style and I never had to play it prior to Inferno Act 2. That's why the Inferno nerfs they have lined up sound good to me~

>>46968
There is still reason to fight bosses, because with Nephalem Valor stacks you're guaranteed a rare drop (and have a good chance for multiples), and a lot of the bosses are easier than elite packs~

Really, they just need a health nerf. Maybe things are so much harder in Ineferno than in Hell that I can't even grasp it, but from what I've done, they can be beaten with a good setup (hydra, blizzard, homing magic missile w/ arcane disruption, etc.)

If it's frustrating you, maybe level some other character outside inferno until the patch is ready? The monk is a lot of fun for me, especially since I equipped him with gear that makes most minions splat in one hit. There's something about wading into the thick of the Soul Jar quest, pulling every enemy within a few yards to you, then smacking them hard enough to make them erupt in a shower of bones that makes it totally worthwhile~

Also, again, bosses being easier is a bad thing. A random encounter that's stronger than THE LORD OF TERROR that the entire franchise is named after breaks the suspension of disbelief and makes me want to scold somebody for that.

Well, we're talking from different perspectives too. As a demon hunter I can kill pretty much anything if I want to, damage isn't a problem, so I don't feel like monsters have too much health.

The problem is, again, I feel like the jump in my total lack of survivability is way too steep going from Act 1 Inferno to Act 2 Inferno. I feel Act 1 Inferno is very well balanced, and it will kill me if I get careless or screw up or lag too badly or something, but I can take a few hits and I generally have time to react to stuff. Act 2 Inferno not only has some of the most annoying monsters (stuff that jumps at you, pops out from under the ground, those damn snakemen that turn invisible and invincible until they appear right next to you), but also seems to have vastly increased damage, to where my health pool just empties in 2-3 hits. If two or more monsters hit me at once I'm basically guaranteed to die, and I don't think I'm "undergeared." I do not feel I could substantially increase my survivability without spending billions on the AH.

Now, I know there are demon hunters that can burn through Inferno by going "glass cannon" and accepting that they will die if they get hit, so they just ignore defensive stats and go all offense, using Smokescreen and such to avoid hits, but I don't feel like I had to play that way prior to Act 2 and I really don't want to start playing that way because it's dumb~

That's a problem with soul lashers in general, not just affixes or elites~ Any monster that can close the gap in an instant and damage you in the process is hell for ranged~

>>46975
Well, I wouldn't include Inferno Diablo in that category because he's probably inefficient to kill due to having tons and tons of health and the fight taking a long time due to having to run to the room and phase transitions and blah~ Also I hear he can be hard because certain shadow clones can kill you pretty fast~

One of the stated design goals of Diablo 3 was that they didn't want people running bosses over and over again to get the best loot. They wanted you to wander around, see more of the game, explore different areas and encounter new, randomly generated monsters and events now and then. That is why they did not limit the best loot in the game to bosses, and why it's intentionally designed as such to have elite packs being the best thing to kill~

I hate the plague bearers the most. They can attack from anywhere with a damaging zone and tend to come in swarms.
>>46977
I'm going through that act in Hell mode and I can see where you're coming from. Thing is that most stuff can't kill me in just a few hits, though that may be from a combination of fairly high HP and resists/armor. Normal enemies can just forget it and go stand in a corner for all they can manage to do. I imagine this is the "damage spike" Blizzard mentioned that they're trying to fix.

Is your defense/resist not particularly great?
>> No. 46981 edit
>>46978
I'm just saying he should be actually challenging, not just a big sack of hit points with minions stronger than he is. With all the buildup and such toward him from the campaign, I'd be outright pissed off if he was comparable to a pre-MM3 monster.
>> No. 46982 edit
>>46980
It doesn't really matter what your defensive stats are on Inferno at the moment, stuff just one shots you anyway. From what I've seen the only characters that can take a hit are barbarians and monks due to using shields and stacking resists and even still, a barbarian with 1200+ all resists (due to their war cry) can still go down in a couple hits against the wrong enemies.

I feel my defenses are reasonable. I have around 35k~40k HP depending on what armor I am wearing (I have a few pieces I swap around depending on how much MF I want), and around 40-50% mitigation from resists, 35% dodge, and ~2-3k armor. This works very well in Act 1, but it might as well be wet paper in Act 2~ I dunno, I feel THAT steep a decrease in effectiveness is problematic~

Trust me, I didn't know how bad it was until I started Act 2 Inferno--I don't think anyone does~ Act 1 Inferno will feel like a reasonable step up from Act 4 Hell, but Act 2 Inferno is just crazy. And ya'know, I was fine with being 1-shotted by Oppressor charges in Act 4 Hell, even though sometimes they would "prep" the charge off-screen without me being able to see it in time to react, because I could mitigate that by proceeding cautiously and using terrain to my advantage. I don't feel like I have the same ability to do that in Act 2 Inferno~ And it's just disheartening to be killed in 2-3 hits by regular monsters doing regular attacks~ It wasn't like this in Act 1!

Well, it's kinda either-or. Earlier you said:
>Otherwise there's no reason to fight them again after killing them all, even with that whatsitsname buff. If you beat Diablo on Inferno, where's your motivation to challenge him again?

But if bosses are more difficult--or just as difficult--as elite packs, and dropped the same or worse loot, no one would ever fight them again after killing them for progression~ And if they dropped better loot than elite packs, it would conflict with stated design goals here:
>>46978

I don't really know how rough Inferno Diablo is~ I know he has a ton of hit points, but he doesn't have new tricks so most of his attacks can probably be avoided if you know what you're doing~ In that sense, he is "easier," but I bet you can still get 1-shotted by him if you let him bone prison-KO you~
