Story is pretty good and all fits into place if you stick through the whole series, there's some OVAs that aren't really required watching but go into the backstory of the character (after the series ends), and the closest mech towards the ones in the show are the knightmares (from the first season) in Code Geass. (Thin armor, maneuverable, etc.)

9/10 without a doubt. Chirico is one of the best main characters I've seen, the AT designs were great, and the plot, while it took a bit to get moving and suffered from some poor pacing at parts, was really interesting and brilliantly done. The last arc was a bit iffy at first, but the ending more than made up for that.
The only OVA for it that I've watched so far is The Last Red Shoulder, which was about as good as the first arc and overall better than the Kummen arc (which was probably the low point of the TV series, in my opinion, though the AT battles were still pretty great during it).

Overall, probably the best mecha anime I've watched so far.

I dunno, I'm pretty sympathetic to people who feel let down by a terrible ending~ If you end on a sour note, it tends to mar the rest of it a great deal~ There were people who wanted to replay the whole series from the start over again, but can't because they can only remember those last 10 minutes are what is waiting for them at the end~

Yeah, I think that's what everyone seems to feel about it. I'm wondering if those SRW games I play are going to "fix" the ending when it gets there. They stopped after the moon part, Simon gets Nia back then, and I think they leave the Cathedral Terra where it is for now. (After fighting a weird antispiral version of it, then going inside and fighting an anti-spiral version of Gurren Lagann.) Along with making the Code Geass season 2 stuff a whole lot less retarded if you get the right route. (Euphie is alive, Shirley lives, Rolo lives since he never killed Shirley, etc.)

He's an excellently written character. Almost as good as, if not better than, Shin Kazama in the Area 88 OVA. He's competent, intelligent, and a one man army who doesn't die when he's killed; but more than that, what I like best are his flaws and how well they were handled. Chirico's inner conflict at the start of the third arc, the Deadworld Sunsa arc, was so well written that it completely makes up for the very slow start of it. His character development just gets better and better from there, until it takes what appears to be a sharp dip in the last arc, the God Planet Quaint arc, only to pull out a complete reversal with a great twist that I never saw coming at all.
Besides all that, I just really like his personality. He's a great guy, and a brilliant protagonist.

I mostly look at /tg/.

It's not revealed until stuff that goes down only on the good/true route, where she comes with her sister Cornelia onto that thing with all the FLEIJAs, I forget what it's called at the moment, pretty much slaps both Lelouch and Suzaku and gives them a piece of her mind. Not sure what they'll do with it in the next game.

Once I tried killing myself by not killing myself. I succeeded. Now I'm dead!

Oh, how lucky. I figured my mom's birthday was coming soon so got flowers she'd probably like from a family run nursery type place. Brother complained that I didn't get any flowers she liked (after I wandered around and definitely made sure it was stuff she'd like for an hour.), turns out she liked them, was itching to plant some flowers etc soon, and today would have been a 25th anniversary had not been for the divorce a few years ago so it all works out!
