The sex and sexuality of each seacat is important.
If it turns out someone is female and straight, or male and not so straight, then they are probably romantically interested in me. So every post becomes more tantalizing. And at night I'll post in the /teaparty/ that appears in my dreams, so that I might properly prepare for all the flirting we might be able to do, the implications we might be able to make, and the further levels our relationship might be taken to.
Of course, if a supposed straight female turns out to be actually a straight guy playing pretend, or a seemingly gay guy was apparently only kidding and playing with my heart and is actually straight, then their posts are no longer as interesting. I won't actively seek conversations with them, and I'll be crossing them off my list of potentials.
Since you can be never be sure over the internet, the best /seacats/ moments for me are when these details are confirmed in red, with substantial proof to back them up. It gives me certainty that even if my heart is crushed, it won't be because it was all pretend.
