Just check bakaupdates etc, Last Exile manga that picks up where the anime leaves us off.

It also explains the missiles just as I thought: the world is an hourglass. If you go straight up from Antoray you end up emerging from the sky in Disith, which explains why the Grand Stream sends Claus and Lavie heading towards the ground when they leave.

So the missiles are shot from Disith into Antoray, and the people are crying because only the missiles with supplies made it through, but not the ones with people.

At first Yozora was slightly okay even though she was annoying and bossy. Then Meat came and Meat was amazing fun and identifiable with. Then comes the Trap. Ugh. Complete idiot + girly hips + girly voice = sugoiiiiii jyouji

Then comes the Nun. Hurfdurf 10-year-old teacher, even if she's a genius you'd have to be a moron to let her teach, because teaching is more than just "I know things!", it's having people skills.

Then Yozora denies being a bully even though she's obviously a bully and the show quickly degenerates.

Then they add another genius who wants MC's ****, and she's not even hiding it. Refreshing? Yes. Fun? No.

Something we can agree on, then! It would've been fine without introducing any of the other characters, the dynamic between Yozora/Meat/Kodaka was good enough. Throw in nerdy things, have them play D&D or something and the show'd probably be enjoyable and fun.

But then they decided Kodaka needs to have a harem with everyone chasing him and a meido character and it's like a cheap rip-off of Haruhi, complete with main girl bullying and extorting others, except without being a happy-go-lucky let's-have-fun girl.

Yeah, I feel like it should have gone in that direction as well. It would have been an entertaining show if it had just been the three of them hanging out in the clubroom while trying all sorts of zany methods for "trying to make friends," along with rejecting the idea of being each others' friends, until right near the end they realized they'd actually become friends with each other from near the very beginning.

It's disappointing then, that judging from how the novels seems to have been going, it's just going to devolve into another silly romance/harem story. Shame really, but I suppose it can't be helped. Apparently that's just what's selling in Japan right now.
