The detective of House Medani finishes examining the inside the armoire before she faces Sophie. She sighs at first and looks to be at a loss, before a flash of inspiration crosses her face. She seems to zone out for a moment, before she comes back into focus. Raki first removes her glasses to polish them with a cloth from her pocket before she states, "Thanks to you, I think I have, actually." The detective puts her glasses back on as Miri returns from the other car. She's briefly soaking wet before a cantrip takes care of that, though she looks exhausted from all the running. The maid shuts the door behind herself, a curious mixture of relief and unease. It's pretty obvious that she found out her kid is still in one piece, anyway. She moves to stand near the doorway, but not blocking anyone from going in or out.
Raki fishes into the remains of the gnome's robes, she fumbles with his pockets before she pulls out a key. She holds it up for everyone in the room to see before she launches into her explanation,"First, Cidri had the door locked at one point, but there's signs of it being tampered with and forced open. This is peculiar because there are no signs of a struggle. In fact, he actually stood up out of his chair for whatever reason and walked toward his assailant before death. This leads me to believe that he either knew his attacker, or they wore a disguise that fooled him into thinking such." Raki walks over to the door that's still held ajar and closes it halfway. A thin coating of red droplets has dried near the middle of the door.
"Second, there's blood spattered on the inside of the door, which, according to Miri, was already thrown open when she found it. Thus, it was closed during the actual crime, and was left open at some point after the crime occurred." Miri nods to confirm this, her face grim.
"Third, the body was mutilated after death. Of that I'm almost completely certain. The device on the table was also broken after the murder occurred. The head was cleanly severed all the way through, meaning it had to be done with something sharp, like a scythe or a sickle. And whatever happened in here was quiet enough that I didn't hear anything from next door while I was asleep." Again the detective moves, this time to pull back the curtain in front of the bath. The water is quite red.
"Fourth, there's an unusual amount of blood in the water basin. I surmise that our culprit washed all the blood off their clothing in there before leaving, as they certainly didn't leave any bloody tracks leaving the room. Or wet ones, curiously enough.
Fifth, there's his missing head. I've searched everywhere in this room but I cannot find it. Gardain confirms are no secret compartments or passages or anything for it to be hidden in, and the windows were never opened, so the killer must have taken it out of the room with them and kept it stowed in some place where it wouldn't drip on the floor."
The rep of House Medani points to a part of the floor where, if you squint hard enough, you can see a vague watery mark on the floor that looks like a wet boot print. Suddenly the detective's voice grows significantly in volume, making it easy to be heard outside the room, practically yelling, "And finally, there's signs that the crime scene was tampered with shortly before I arrived, such as wet footprints on the wood that have yet to dry, when much of the blood already has. As you can see, I'm bone dry, and Miri claims she never took a step inside. These footprints enter the room but never leave it. And as it just so happens, my Dragonmark is telling me that somebody used shadow magic in here recently, as there is still a trace amount of it remaining."
Raki purposefully strides out of the room and grins at Tainya confidently. She levels her accusation in a calm, collected voice when she asks sweetly, "Did you forget something the first time you went in, miss? Some damning evidence, perhaps?"
