The next day rolls around, the adventurers awakened by the a loud crashing noise reverberating throughout the chamber. In enters the nameless emerald dragon and Errol from an opening in the wall, the giant creature regarding the group sternly. Around her neck is something that looks like the statue they had seen earlier, only much smaller. She motions with her head to follow her, refusing to take 'no' for an answer. Only giving them a few minutes to prepare and get their equipment ready, she urges them along, whether or not they really want to go along with it.

The passage is lit only by the virtue of on of the adventurers carrying a torch. The crystalline walls crumble to powder before the dragon's advance, then reconstruct themselves behind the group as though nothing happened. Errol tries to reassure everyone that everything will turn out okay, but he sounds slightly worried all the same.

"Here," the older dragon states once the group reaches a large yet fairly unremarkable stone disc. Not giving any instruction, the emerald dragon steps onto the disc... And completely vanishes. Errol squeaks instruction in his mother's absence, "Mommy said for me to wait here. You just step on that thing and you go somewhere far, far away."

"Oh, and good luck, everyone!" he adds after the party proceeds to do as instructed. All they see is a bright flash of light before they find themselves lagging behind the emerald dragon in another cavern blackened with soot. It takes a few hours of trekking through the craggy cave to reach an exit. The sun sits high above, indicating it's just past noon, though it's blocked out by a gathering of clouds. Their guide finishes reading something written on a scroll, which disappears into ashes.

"Now we go up. Quickly."

Yanked along by some unseen force, the party is forced into flight at an incredible speed. The wind shrieks around them as they soar up, higher and higher into the sky until they break through the lowest layer of clouds. As if they were on tethers, the party is forced to follow behind the dragon, who bluntly states, "Here's the deal : you all will go kill Wiseman, and I will crush his phylactery when you are finished, but not a moment sooner. It is a convenient conduit for curses that could weaken him and make your job... Possible. If necessary I'll ward off attacks from the sky, but otherwise you are on your own." At the slower, stealthy pace you move at, it's almost evening before the dragon stops, bringing everyone to a halt.

"Tower's below," she drones, pointing to a tiny gray speck below you, surrounded by a sprawling city. "You'll fall from here to there. I'll just do this..." the emerald dragon states, a spectral horde of dragons gripping the adventurers as the "tether" disappears, their bodies no longer held up by it, "...And you will most assuredly land safely, provided you don't steer these things the wrong way. Oh, and good luck."

With that out of the way, the host of phantom dragons dive towards the tower, bearing the group towards their destination. The features of the top of the tower become easier to make out as you continue to fall. Statues stand around an altar in the center, the parapets surrounding it hiding its sinister purpose from anyone watching below.

You are currently in a free-fall, hurtling towards the ground at terminal velocity. Because of the emerald dragon's spell, you will land on your feet, you will not take damage when you land, and the equipment you wear will not be damaged by the fall.

Before we start initiative, you have the option of choose the square that you land in. The places that are restricted are:
-spaces that are completely black. Landing here would mean not landing on the tower
-spaces that have any objects occupying them. This includes the altar and the spaces where the "wings" of the statues are spread
Regardless of whether you do this or not, the villain's going to make his appearance tonight.

Walala moves up near Rock and drops a decanter near his feet. The glass shatters and coats Rock in a thin protective barrier of light, like a bubble. Careful aim allows her to plug Wiseman with another bolt where it really hurts, arcane energy discharging from it and her wand. It infuses the barbarian's weapon and augments his attacks for a time.

Walala moves to G, 4
Walala expends a healing infusion and uses Resistive Formula on Rock, granting a +1 power bonus to AC until the end of the encounter. Rock can end it as a free action to gain temporary hit points equal to his healing surge value + 1
Walala CRITS with Magic Weapon for 24 damage, and Rock gains a +1 bonus to attack rolls and a +5 bonus to damage rolls until the end of Walala's next turn

The blood of countless slain foes sears Wiseman's hide, the chitinous shell cracking in some places. But at last Wiseman can see once more, and is no longer under the oppressive glare of Yagi Yuu. As if to celebrate, he laughs maniacally as a horde of phantoms assault Yagi and Kadol. The dwarf sees through them, but they hound Yagi and pierce him with spear points as they drive him back, threatening horrible vengeance if he tries to counterattack. Both of them feel slightly more vulnerable.

With the knight no longer threatening him, Wiseman clutches his claws and howls to the sky,
"Surrenderrrrr... Your souls!" A phantasmal essence is forcibly drawn out of Rock and Walala's bodies as their strength leaves them. Enfeebled, their bodies are unwillingly thrown around like ragdolls and left in prostration.

The tower shakes as cracks continue to form, one of which knocks Yagi to the ground.

Lia's latest attack is enough to draw blood from the creature, which saturates the altar below. The distortion around it grows more pronounced as a thick black smoke billows forth from the center. Loud shrieking echoes from far, far overhead as something flares up brightly in an explosion of light and leaves behind a thick cloudy haze.

"We... Hunger..." Wiseman rasps as the world twists and reshapes around the adventurers, the area within the fog cracking and shattering like glass, revealing only blackness.

The air grows chilly, much more so around Wiseman as sharp spikes of ice spread out from around him and attempt to ensnare the adventurers. Fortunately, Rock and Lia resist the chill. Walala stands up and attempts to counter, but her barbed wire is simply shrugged off.

Slowly the backdrop settles in, as the lights of thousands of stars twinkle around you; the party is in the dark reaches of space, far, far from home. A swirling vortex in the far off distance moves at surprising speed, as though years were passing like seconds, the two galaxies merging together as planets colide and suns die out. Of more pressing importance is the void that opens near Lia, who feels a strong tug from it. A nearby entity that looks like a dying star threatens to do the same to Kadol and Yagi.

A chunk of ice the size of a large person hurtles towards Yagi, leaving a trail of jagged frost in its wake, and knocks him aside. It smashes into Kadol and pushes her away, though she manages to keep her balance. Fays isn't as lucky, and is smashed aside and knocked to the ground. The comet comes to a stop several feet away, its composition of shifting, angry faces that rage and snarl silently.

Wiseman must be getting desperate.

Kadol channels back into a bit of divine power to allow Yagi another chance to shake off the distraction illusions confusing him. Afterwards, the dwarf moves north, away from the comet and the other celestial distractions, before refixing her gaze on the aberrant beast before her. "Ye've worn out yer welcome 'ere. Begone!" With that, a blast of lightning descends from the heavens, shocking Wiseman and revealing his weak points for all of her allies to see. Afterwards, Kadol pauses for a brief breather to regain her composure.

Immediate Interrupt: Allow Yagi to reroll saving throw using demand justice.
Move Action: Move to B-10.

Kadol's encouragement fails to shake away the specters hounding Yagi. Her divine lightning, however, hits its mark easily and Wiseman's chitinous shell starts to crack and crumble in places. Wiseman doesn't even have anything to say as he pounds the life out of Rock and smashes Yagi until he starts bleeding again. The dying star cracks in places before imploding on itself, vanishing from sight before reappearing near Yagi, Kadol, and Wiseman, catching them in its gravitational pull. The faces on the comet show anguish as it hurls back the way it came. It misses Fays completely but nails Yagi right in his helmeted face, knocking him over backwards and leaving him at the mercy of the black hole. The gravity field can't seem to get a hold on the baleful comet, though.

Things look very desperate right now.

Arming her crossbow with an enchanted bolt, Lia hits Wiseman with enough force to push him closer to the center of the black hole. The bolt crackles with power as the black hole threatening Lia and Rock disappears into nothingness. In response, Wiseman hits Lia with a psychic assault that forces her into the void that is the perimeter, only for her to reappear several feet away on the opposite end, at the mercy of the remaining black hole and on her knees. Lia easily stands up and changes her stance, shifting through the barrier without breaking stride. The black hole is unable to hold back the fleet footed elf, and she emerges unscathed, save for some nagging doubts at the back of her mind.

Walala rushes to Rock's aid, this time using the proper mixture to heal him up past the brink of death and then some. From her wand, a sigil-enscribed sphere is hurled into the midst. Wiseman and the comet are engulfed in flames, while a translucent shield protects Yagi and Kadol against the cold. The effect of her having her life force ripped out wears off and Kadol feels reinvigorated. Out of curiosity, and in spite of being in the middle of a battle, she speculates what sort of phenomena could be happening in the distant cosmos.

The baleful comet screams silently as it tries to move, but this time it is unable to escape the pull of the black hole's gravity.

Arcana: This appears to be what is known as "galactic cannibalism", which is when a larger galaxy merges with a smaller one, making it even larger as it "devours" the smaller galaxy and integrates the smaller one into itself. It often results in a distorted orbit, or even planets and debris colliding. This would occur over the course of billions of years, so either time is sped up significantly in this realm, or it's just a projection of some kind. With all the dry and dead looking planets surrounding the sun, it's like a legion of undead circling around their master. As Star Pact patrons are often actual celestial bodies, perhaps that galaxy itself, or just its sun, is a component of Wiseman; his actual "true" form, whereas this creature before you is an avatar of that gluttonous extradimensional being.

Searing light erupts from Wiseman's body as parts of him are completely incinerated under Kadol's attack. One wing looks as though it will never fly again, and his left leg is just a stump of charcoal. The black hole exerts its vicious pull upon its master, crushing him beneath its weight. Large pieces of chitin are crushed into dust, and his entire body is riddled with cracks. And a crippling headache leaves Wiseman completely disoriented. Feebly, he swings at Yagi, but the knight easily deflects both attacks.

"This... Cannot... Be..." he gurgles, shaking off the daze for what little good it does him. One solid hit should put him out of everyone's misery.

Now the comet escapes from the pull of the black hole, hurtling towards Rock and Walala. With the unlucky streak the rest of the party (and even the comet) has had trying to finish Wiseman off, it's left up to Lia to do the deed. Twirling a bolt as it is removed from her quiver, Lia puts it into the crossbow and aims down the scope carefully, intending to aim for the head. With the creature thrown off balance by the target, Lia finds the perfect chance to shoot, and the bolt speeds towards the target. Mentally, she says,"Go to the hell you so deserve to be in. Let the dead pass judgement upon you. And may it be excruciating."

A bolt through the brain is too much for the giant aberration. With a final gasp, Wiseman plummets into the center of the black hole, swallowed up by his own conjuration. The comet wails as it disintegrates into dust, the black hole twists and distorts as it implodes upon itself, and the entire malicious cosmos explodes in a spectacular display of light.

In any case, Wiseman is gone for good.

-Trying to go past the visible area will send you to the opposite side (for example, going straight past R,9 will lead you to B,9). Moving in this way requires one extra square of movement.
-A creature subjected to Destruction of Bonds takes 5 psychic damage if it ends its turn within 2 squares of an ally.
-Wiseman’s Loss of Will trait causes enemies that are slid 2 or more squares by one of his attacks to fall prone at the end of the movement.
-Lightly shaded squares are frozen spikes. They are considered difficult terrain, and you take 5 cold damage for falling prone on them.

Walala puzzles a bit. She was overcome by some unknown magical force controlling her whilst she dozed off in the middle of a fight. In any case, they were in space. So, we're in space. wat do
She then stands up and looks around.

Kadol slowly, very slowly, relaxes her fighting stance, and looks to her surroundings, waiting, and praying, "Moradin... guide this lost soul back tae tha mortal realm. There's still a lotta work tae do."

Short rest. If we're not escaped by then, I'll use my daily free Hand of Fate ritual and ask how to get out.

Kadol's prayer summon a ghostly figure of a hand, which hovers in the air and points to the east. Somewhere far off in that direction, the adventurers can see a large "gash" in the realm, like fabric torn away to reveal what lies beneath it. The familiar look of the stone tower flickers there, wavering. It might not stay that way, though, and could close if haste is not made.

"Ah think tha be our ticket outta here, lads! Let's git movin'!" Kadol announces, ending the ritual quickly and moving quickly to the east, towards the rift.

Walala, deciding that she doesn't have enough time to make herself into a black hole so she can eat the galaxy for whatever reason, hurriedly follows the others through the rift. There's still research to do, and things to blow up.

The distance to the gap seems greater than initial appearances would lead one to believe, and doesn't seem to grow any closer no matter how quickly the adventurers move toward it. It feels like hours have passed before the group finds themselves back at the tower, the sunlight just peeking over the edge of the horizon. The dragon that escorted them there is nowhere to be found, and the stone altar at the center of their previous battlefield is now a gaping hole into the empty building.

Traversing through the trapdoor and down the steps, nothing comes after the group, nothing springs out and attacks, and nothing is waiting to surprise them. Somehow, all traces of the demons infesting the place have disappeared entirely. It's another long walk, but back outside there's some activity at least. People were cautiously leaving their houses, milling about nervously in the almost empty streets. None of them show hostility or recognition towards the adventuring group. A representative of the Yuu clan, however, does walk up to them and stammer that their presence is needed at their estate immediately.

As can be expected, for doing the job they had been asked to do, the adventurers each receive a valuable set of trinkets and fineries, valuing upwards of twenty thousand gold pieces. After thanks are given, the head of the Yuu clan, Lord Huere Yuu II, then kindly asks them to be on their way. Except for Yagi, of course. He mentions that they have big plans for him. Something about "great expectations"...

It's hard to say that everyone lived "happily ever after", but, for what it's worth, the world was, at least, a better place thanks to their efforts. So it was written by the lorekeeper, and so it shall be.
