Michael lands an accurate yet weak blow on the jumping spider, which exposes a weakness in its carapace that his allies can take advantage of, if they have the proper positioning. Additionally, the spider swarm crawling over Sariel attempts to bite the eladrin to poison her once more, but she rolls and shakes, preventing them from getting a good bite.
The jumping spider, for its part, leaps away from the melee and attacks the fiery guardian, knocking the summoned creature off its feet and poisoning it. The paladin's sanction punishes it for this action, and it is seared by radiant energy. Notes
Web-filled squares are difficult terrain.
Elevations are indicated in the squares. There are several elevations in this room. You must make a Athletics check (DC 15) to increase your elevation.
Webs can be destroyed if you have a weapon and are standing adjacent to them, it takes a standard action to do so. No roll required.
Hidden creatures remain hidden until you can beat their Stealth check with your Perception check. The spiders can hide in the areas where the webs overlap. They also stop being hidden if they move out of such areas or attack. You can point out the spider's locations to your allies, which allows them to target that square, but they still can't actually see the creature without making the necessary Perception check as a minor action.
The standing torch is difficult terrain. It could be used as an improvised weapon.
Creatures that end their turns in burning webs take 5 fire damage. Burning webs disappear after 1 round.
If you start your turn adjacent to a swarm or within its space, you are caught in its swarm aura and are slowed until the start of your next turn.
