Well I'm going to throw one together anyway. Because I don't like seeing you miserable. It's fine feeling a little blue every now and then, since life can't be great all the time. If you ask me a life like that would be damn boring, anyway.
Thing is, I don't know what it is that's got you down this time, though I can hazard a guess. Maybe you feel like all your efforts are worthless. Maybe you feel all alone with nobody there to offer support. Maybe you're down because of something someone has said or done, whether they did it unintentionally or otherwise. People aren't perfect after all, sometimes we all say the wrong thing or word our thoughts wrong and get misunderstood because of it. That sort of thing happens to everyone at some point or another. It's not anybody's fault, and it's no good to get hung up on things like that.
I read before that you said you wanted to help people, and were met with disheartening comments about it. Let me tell you a story that relates to this, in a way.
A long time ago, I used to be like that, too. I was the kind of guy who only wanted to help people, and only ever wanted to see people laugh and smile. I played the part of the clown through many of my school years just to get people to laugh and be happy - I didn't care whether they were laughing with me or at me, so long as they were laughing.
I even bought a new backpack for school once which was the brightest, most eccentric thing I could possibly find. It was three colors in all: a bright lime green at the back; a soft sky blue in the middle; and a piercing cherry pink at the front. I bought it in a ski shop, the design was apparently so bright and colorful so that it could be found even if lost in a snowstorm.
I went to school the next day and every single person there noticed it, and laughed at it. I was like a bright light that could be seen from a mile away, and so people always instantly recognized me because of it. They thought it was silly and ridiculous and laughed whenever they saw it, but that was exactly why I bought it in the first place, so it didn't bother me at all.
I did silly little things like that all the time. I once bought a leopard print fedora for the same reason, and people loved me for things like this. I was able to cheer them up and make them laugh, even though all I was doing was making a fool out of myself.
But you know? It's hard to live a life trying to make everyone smile all the time. Helping people and cheering people up isn't easy. In fact, it can be pretty tiring and incredibly exhausting sometimes. Occasionally the effort it required would be enough to beat me down and make me feel like giving up and just going back to my old, quiet, introverted self. There's nothing wrong with wanting to help people; it's just that it's not always an easy thing to do. But if you're just going to give up because there are some people you can't help quite yet, then you're just going to turn out like me and the countless other people who gave up on their dreams.
Sometimes you might feel like it's all too much. Maybe sometimes it feels like all your hard work is fruitless, that it's getting you nowhere. Maybe you sometimes feel like you really can't make a difference in this world after all. But you have to realize that this isn't true, at all. Not everybody is cut out for the job of helping people. It's a difficult, challenging thing to do, after all. That's why those who are able to help people like that are so incredible. It's a very impressive, admirable thing, but that's precisely because it's a difficult thing that not everybody can do.
I think I said to you once before that sometimes you seem to care too much about other people. That's still true now, it seems. There's nothing wrong with that though. I think it's one of the things that makes you who you are. You are yourself; you're a fantastic person, and more than that, you have my respect. Very few people have earned my respect in this world, so you should consider yourself lucky there. Though really, luck has nothing to do with it. It's more to do with the kind of person you are.
So don't give up. And don't let the small things beat you down. Because once you fall into despair it sucks away motivation like some kind of black hole, and before you know it, all of your dreams begin to slip right through your fingers. Don't let those dreams slip through like that. Grab hold of them, and shape them with your own two hands. Just because something is difficult and requires a lot of effort, don't mean it's impossible. Set your mind to it and you can do incredible things.
You can give up any time you like. You can quit running whenever you feel like it. But once you quit running, you'll find it incredibly hard to start again. If you keep running, there's always the option to quit. But that option is only there for as long as you keep running toward tomorrow. Just because you can give up whenever you feel like it, doesn't mean you should. Ultimately, this is a decision you need to make yourself. Are your dreams worth the work required to accomplish them? If they are, then never give up, and never falter. You can give up whenever, so with that in mind, keep running as fast as you can for as long as you can hold out.
