Damnit, I liked how she was all cute and stuff. Oh well.

What... how is that... I don't even...

>Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko – The Perverted Prince and the Stony Cat – 01

I won't lie, this show shows quite a bit of promise for such a stupid premise. Out of the stuff I've seen with harem animes (DATE A LIVE and Photokan at least), this one I'm liking a lot. Music is pretty generic, and so is the story, but the animation is a bit above your average stuff for this kind of thing, like the coloring and animation is smooth and bright to the point of being vivid but not distracting.

The story is about a guy who is very perverted, but uses his facade to fool people into thinking otherwise. Hearing a legend of a cat who can help with this from his friend, he decides to let his perverted nature be taken away. He meets a girl there who wants to be less childish and emotional very easily. They pray and it's the old “be careful what you wish for” premise. Guy now can't shut up what's on his mind, making him the Perverted Prince, and the girl is as expressionable as a rock (or stone, hint hint, nudge nudge). In order to get back what they lose, they need to find the people who “needed their facade and emotions more than they do” and trick them into getting them back.

Well, I guess when labeled like that, it's not all that stupid. It actually turned the basic story of harem with a cliched twist into something that's enjoyable through how it handles the story's progression and characters. I'd suggest this anime to someone that likes a twist on their harem stuff (like DATE A LIVE, I suppose) and/or people who don't mind very mild (hell, if any) fanservice.

>Realize there is no one on the train
This guy is suppose to be written as some badass loner soldier guy with paranoia issue. How the fuck did he miss that!?

>That ending with the characters and ending song
Yup. It's a little less shameless than that one with the Skittles Rainbow Boy Band anime, but it's not a subtle as Red Data Girl either.

>Karneval – 01

You mean Carnival, right? You guys can at least translate the Katakana not as accurately.

Anyways, this show is... hmmm... well, I have no idea what it is. Episode one has action and stuff happening, but you don't exactly know what's going on in it. The story is actually a bit slower than one may predict, even with the actiony parts in it. I guess it's because the music isn't anything memorable. As for the art, it's what you expected from this kind of show. The boys and girls of this show are extremely pretty, the villains are drawn like villains, and there seems to be one or two old guys in this. The colors are a bit brighter than desired, but then again what do you expect when your MC has white hair and red eyes. Anyways the two MCs are your basic Tops and Bottoms shounen ai pairing, the tall dark broody one and the innocent with angsty past and thoughts, cheerful Mcguffin one who's experience baby's first everything that tags along.

The story is about... well, that's kind of hard. Broody saves Mcguffin from gasp having sex with a woman! Oh and she tries to kill Broody. They escape and some flashbacks happen. Some mystery guy, er, watches the woman die or something. The Dark Magician and Kung Fu loli fly around for a bit, being badass. The two pairs meet up and save some people... and that's it. I have no idea what the premise is other than being in a group called Circus, and going around messing shit up.

Anyways, um, who would like it? I guess a mixture of people seeing guys just do badass stuff like magically pull swords out of thin air and disarm bombs, and people who are Fujoshi.

>Half? HALF!? FUCK YOOUUUUU
I love how they have the most skilled fighters be emotional and unstable pretty boys.

>Argh, my high school love is dead. How annoying.
I know /a/ has made fun of SnK's protag being too angsty and emotional, but come on guy, you can show a bit more emotion in your voice and face.

>them streams and facebooks
Wow, one of the few animes that recognizes just how large of an impact electronics and the internet have become to us.

>Suddenly, he has powers
This really is Code Geass 2.0.

>Valvrave the Liberator – 01

I can see why /a/ responds to it with the phrase “wtf”. A lot is thrown at you for this first episode, with only barely much slow breaths to not make your head spin. The animation is a bit more fluid than your average anime and the cgi is blended well enough so it's not distractingly obvious that the machines are computer animated. The music is quite good, with a couple of orchestrals and choir pieces to it. The coloring is nice, but like I said before, the character designs are of a vast variety (though it might just mean there is a very large cast to work with). Hardly anyone that you see in this anime feels like they are a throw away character with a “I'm just here to fill up space and/or die” design. So in this sense, it's like Code Geass. Plenty of characters to work with with entertaining mecha fights to keep viewers watching.

Story wise, I'll try to keep it simple. Colonies in space and our characters live out their lives happily at school. Apparently, high tech scify living doesn't require much clearance check as 5 teenage super soldiers (insert gundam joke here) come in and fuck the place up while trying to steal the top secret machine Valvrave. Forces from the outside come and wreck the place up, forcing the colony to defend itself and making the whole place a war-zone itself. People die, MC cries, gets into secret robot and does his revenegance. Also he is Dracula now.

Who would I recommend this to? I guess the people who like anime such as Code Geass, TTGL, Star Driver, ect. You know, your usual Super mecha shows.

>That ending

>Arata Kangatari - 01

Well, I can kind of see why nobody is talking about this show. And it's not because it doesn't have the usual appeal (shounen, harem, shoujo, ect). The show overall feels... kind of bland. Like someone looked up what was generic in the mid 90s and let it time travel here with the current production values of today for anime. The animation is nothing to sneeze at, in fact it looks a bit of the older style in the early 00s, but not too old to feel like it doesn't really stand out. If I had to guess, this was adapted from either a very slightly popular manga/light novel or from a popular one from older times. The music doesn't give any impact on the anime, and the character designs, well, is the same with the animation. But I think what ties this oatmeal bowl together is the story and how it's told. It's a slightly older, or rather, unused premise nowadays that was actually standard before “cute girls doing cute things” and pandering cranked up to 11 took over the majority of anime shows, which is why this anime is sort of dusted underneath the rug.

The story is about a boy who is a good kid, but made a stupid mistake (which is unknown) in the past, making him slightly looked down upon to the point of having friends betray him. Of course, this hurts him to the point of causing the “be careful what you wish for” premise and is switched into a magical world where the leader-guy of a clan is accused of murdering the princess of, I don't know, ultimate magics and said magical world, I guess. He then takes on the current problems, brushes his old wounds aside, and it basically becomes your “hero's journey into an unknown world” kind of thing. The kid is already showing signs of trying to change himself due to being transported there upon “fulfilling his destiny.”

Who would I suggest this too? Well, if you too comfortable with how anime is nowadays you might not like this. But if you have a sense of nostalgia of how anime was told from not too long ago, or if you are a fan of “travel to magical world to man up” kind of stories, then this one you'll like. Also, this seems to have the usual “manly spirits” sense to it, heavy with the tone of Rivalry as port of it's subtheme.

Anyways, I'll most likely drop this since nobody seems to really care for it, and it doesn't grasp at my interests either.

Who put magical girls and shounen in my samurai harem anime?

>Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Bride – 01

This one... is kind of hard to pin down. It's like they took a large pot and threw in Ikkitousen, DBZ, Ninja Nonsense, Tenchi Muyo and mixed them all together. It's fanservicey, it's funny, it's over the top fighting, ect. Well, it's fanservicey, but not to the point of being disgustingly so (Well, kind of. It does have it's moments). And it doesn't use fanservice = comedy thing either. As for the fighting, it strange, it's over the top, but kind of pathetic at the same time. Like one move per turn at the slowest speed kind pf pathetic. And I believe this is the first time I've seen a legit reason why the MC is weaker than the girls around him.

Anyways, the art is what you would expect from a harem type of series. Big sparkly eyes, skimpy clothes, backgrounds are just sort of there, even if it's drawn beyond the “suburb of a town” kind of thing anime seems to fall back on a lot. The colors are neon-ish, but I feel it's actually held back due to it being drawn to replicate oldish traditional Japanese samurai manga (i.e. ink splatters and heavy use of ink in certain places, giant strokes for Kanji, ect). The music, as usual, is just kind of there, again, even though it's themed around samurai genre kind of stuff. The characters are slightly one note, but I feel they have more in stock for us with them later on as they seem to hint at a few stuff that has been happening in the past. What it does seem to handle is molding the genres of over-the-top samurai stuff and harem stuff a bit better than one may think.

The story goes as such (though not much). The Head of the clan/MC (I'm guessing he's the head anyways) returns from his journey and finds out that his precious dojo is turned into a maid cafe. The girls convince him that they need the money in order to keep things running around the place. Meanwhile, a group of samurai brought back from the dead come and challenge the dojo, asking for Yagu Jubei. Surprise to say, it's the little sister of the MC, and of course the group of dark samurai don't believe them. Of course, this is a running theme as things heat up between the two groups of samurai. All the girls are named after famous Japanese warriors. The bad guys win, and seal up MC's super samurai powers, giving them only a month fight back with the actual Yagu Jubei before MC loses his powers forever

And that's it. People that like multiple elements in their kinky girl anime would like this, even though the fighting isn't all that great and the jokes, though slightly above average, will try it's best to keep your interest.

Might keep up with this one, but it'll definitely be in back of the line of the other anime I'm watching.

Um, well, this is just 2 minutes long, but I can sum it up in one sentence: Make fun of blood types and how they go about situations. That's it.

I'm not going to say much about it, but if you got time to blink, you got time for this one.

Another short anime, running time 3 minutes long. It's about this cute, bubbly and bouncy front desk clerk who goes around using her super strength and fighting skills to either put and end to trouble or start it. It has a 4koma feel to it and the animation looks a bit dated, or at least on a smaller budget than most anime. It looks like Hand Maid May or some other early 00s anime.

Anyways, if you got some time to kill or on break from something, check this out. It's good for a quick laugh.

>Take an S&M personality quiz with your friends

>Yuyushiki – 01

Cute girls doing cute things. Again. Well, if it ain't broken, I guess don't fix it. Your basic SOL 4koma adaptation. Not much can be said other than the usual; the characters play off of one another's personalities and the daily mundane events that occur. And it's pretty comedic seeing it handled as such. The animation is actually kind of unique in a generic cutesy way. It's hard to explain, but it's like the people who did Madoka and Hidamari sketch drew this with their left hand or something, or took a few steps back in drawing lessons. The colors a pretty bright, though not too out there, but just enough to show that this has a very light atmosphere. The music is kind of, what's the word... light? It's pretty comfy for half the part, while the more intense comedic bits have the fasters pieces. Heh, for once, I'll mention the voice acting, because it's strange to me. Somehow, it comes off as both average, yet the highlight of the show. How the characters deliver their lines really does help strikes the right strings for the comedy to work. The characters are your usual trio in this type of genre though: the moe airhead, the serious straightman, and the genki comic relief. Fun characters, though I hope they introduce more in the later episodes.

As for story, well, I basically told you what it is. The thing that makes this SOL different is the club. … Okay, that's not MUCH of a difference. But it's the Data Processing Club. Yup, it's a 4koma adapt of girls surfing the internet. I don't know why people haven't thought of this earlier.

Anyways, the people who would like it are people who enjoy their “Cute girls doing cute things” mixed with some SOL 4koma humor. So those who like Yuru Yuri, Nichijou, Azumanga Daioh, K-ON, ect. Sooo... basically everyone here?

Looking forward to the next episodes.

>Mushibugyou – 01

This story is about average, maybe a bit above. Definitely done a bit more tastefully and straight forward than Samurai bride, but in my eyes, they are about even for your usual Samurai genre stuff. Even though it takes place in Edo, some stuff seems a bit off, like it doesn't feel like really old-Japan-coming-into-the-new-era (unless I'm mistaken that being in Edo doesn't mean it takes place during the Edo period). The animation is slightly above average, with style and colors that seem to definitely give off a vibe that this came straight from a manga about Samurai. Though sometimes that could take away from the experiences of watching it as an anime rather than manga. The music is actually pretty good, not only setting the mood for the era, but also setting the mood for the shows slower and intenser moments as well. Characters are a bit one-dimensional with the main character having a backstory that can't fill half a page. The character designs are a bit unique and nice, they still feel a bit cookie cutter to those who are familiar with samurai anime already. Story? Eeeehh, no much to it.

Message too long. Click here to view the full text.
