Well, I've been visting this site for about half a year, so it's probably about time that I introduced myself to you guys.
Like Dlanor, I have played and loved Kinjo's fangames, in particular his fourth which inspired me to come to this site. I know that the way he portrayed /seacats/ is highly romanticised, but I found the picture he painted of the old site back when it was more active quite beautiful, and it's tragic that all the games there were lost.
Most of the games that exist on the new site seem to be either unfinished or unremarkable. I've still read everything on /gameboard/ despite that, though, and there are definitely a few gems in there. But to be honest, that makes me wish I could read the games from the old days even more.
Regardless, I probably won't be around /teaparty/ much, since the interest in Umineko seems to have mostly passed and the things that the community talks about these days - mainly anime and other VNs, by the looks of things - are of no interest to me. But I will stop by occasionally and comment if there happens to be a discussion about something that catches my interest.
It's a shame that I only discovered Umineko after all eight episodes were released, because I would have loved to have been part of the fanbase back when it was still active. Umineko is the most amazing story that I've ever read and it still continues to fascinate me even though it's already been a year since I discovered it. Well, I won't go on any further about this, since I'll probably go into text wall territory if I start listing all the reasons I love it, but it is definitely a very special work to me.
Oh, right, and my name originates from my extensive reading into the archives of AnimeSuki's Umineko discussion thread. I noticed that "Rikatrice" was a common fan name for Erika back when her picture was first released; considering my love for Rika, Erika and Beatrice, I thought it a suitable identity to take on here.
At any rate, due to my vast love for the ingenious ruleset that Ryukishi has created for Umineko's "gameboards", I will definitely be sticking around to try and solve any game that you guys happen to post. Just thought I should let you guys know who I am before I vanish into the sea of Fragments. Nipa-*
