I saw it. You could always say that Shannon being away simply means Yasu didn't call upon her Shannon character and lived and died as Kanon, but it seems the idea is that Shannon and Kanon are not the same, and Kinzo isn't
dead before the start of the game, as well. It's only a matter of course that some characters should have different backgrounds in gameboards.

That said, I'm not that interested. They're a dime a dozen here, just not in manga form. Still, they might make an interesting story.

I don't see the problem with them finding Kanon's corpse. Kanon's body appears all the time, even in front of Battler, it's just that it's always alive when it does. If Yasu died while in Kanon disguise then one could find Kanon's body. Take for instance episode 4, at the end. Battler is the only one left on the island, and he finds Shannon's corpse, but not Kanon's. Couldn't this be perfectly fine the other way around?

But that's not really the point. There's no need for Kanon and Shannon to have the same background in a gameboard that has no relation to the actual truth. I wouldn't be afraid of having Kanon's corpse be found in a gameboard of my own.

Well, one of my personal theories involve Kanon not being an actual servant in the island, but a role Yasu assumed sometimes. It goes well with all the the furniture stuff and it fix a lot of inconvenient things with the whole Shkanon.
Battler did read about Kanon in the bottles left by Yasu, so he continued appearing. It makes sense as he never seen him before, so with the whole amnesia thing it's wouldn't be weird for Battler to "forget" him.

After all, in the episode 7 tea party, Kyrie and Rudolf don't question why they can't find Kanon after they kill 'Beatrice', nor do they even go looking for him. However, I still don't see why that should have any impact on a gameboard that doesn't relate to the truth. It would be fine as a fan gameboard, and the new manga thing is pretty much just that.
