So I just realise that I don't LIKE the writing in one of my projects and I need to sell it to myself better. "Transition" is about... Rachel who meets with three different people but makes the same choice regardless! At the same time I can't really justify that different choices are made on such a spur. What do!

That's what I hope to do! I was considering the following changes:

- Davis route results in Davis convincing Rachel to try something new. Rather than become a teacher, maybe become... an artist? And find some guy to support her if she's uncertain about that!

- Meeting the kid route: continue as-is. Playing with the kid opens Rachel's eyes to how her approach had been fundamentally wrong and how she can have joy again.

- Meeting the Chinese lady: Rachel goes back home, finds a time capsule box. The letter talks about how she was going to be the best writer ever. Rachel pursues writing over teaching, or becomes a teacher who writes.

In this way there will be three different endings to the story, and it will stronger emphasise the importance of others in your life as you make your choices.

I still think it's not entirely as strong as it could be, but I don't think I should entirely rewrite it, if only for losing sight of my goal.

Better to focus on new things, after all!

Speaking of new things, I'm not sure I want to make the newest story idea I have into a Visual Novel. The scope seems to demand itself to be much bigger... I'll probably write it in novel format first and then rewrite it to be compatible with an ADV-format Visual Novel (think Clannad-type), but I'm not so keen on it. Most notably due to the large amount of resources necessary.

Then build on that stuff. Do what my creative writing teacher says : "Dig deeper and ask questions".

Why would she want to become an artist in the first place? Is she good at art? Is she bad at teaching? Why does she need a guy to support her instead of just a close friend?

What was wrong with her approach? How does the kid change it? Does she have some kind of epiphany, a slow realization, or a suspicion that something's wrong that the kid reinforces?

How does she remember the time capsule? What does the Chinese lady have to do with it? Why does she take her past self's ambitions seriously? Could she also become a writer who teaches, like a college professor?

Stuff like that I guess.

You could try inserting the 'guy with a gun' effect into it.

Meaning you thrown in something the reader does not fully see, and creates drama or emotional reaction.

I mean it feels dull in the sense that no matter what choice you pick, the result is the same, while simultaneously it felt weak to me that the different people could have such a large impact.

I've settled on a way to deal with it but looking to finishing Of Love and You first, given that is going swimmingly now.
