It becomes pertinent to speak here. Yes, I mean Risk as in "that strategy game". I used to play it with my brothers when I was younger, and Katawa Shoujo made me feel like playing it again. (brilliant, reviving old time memories)

Players are 2-6 people. We could go for a round tonight, while the night is young if people're willing.

I used to play it with my older brother and some friends when I was younger. A few days ago I thought about trying to see if I could get the CD to work on my new laptop.

I'm up for it. I have nothing to do, just sitting here writing until I feel like stopping anyway. But I can always take an hour or two break.

That's... three interestees? If anyone else is interested, voice it now, I'll create the game for it soon.

For map choices, there's classic, European, Great Britain-only... let's start out with Classic; Britain seems fun but it's got 4 "continents", so that may turn out to be real cutthroat.

It's really great, but the first week is a bit misleading. You can do Misato's route during the first week, but you miss out on a bunch of scenes so I'd suggest leaving her route for the second week unless you just want to get to the best parts more quickly.
Just wait until you unlock Miki's route (complete Misato's, Touko's and Kiri's), goddamn her whole route is crazy. Best girl, etc.

>>38328
Both, but installed the normal version for now. Not like it really matters, the current EX patch removes all H-scenes and added content and only translates the exact same thing the normal patch does, except for a few lines like the questions on Kyousuke's site.

Well, the girls all tie in very closely to that aspect of it as well. You do the yandere's route last, for good reason. Though her route isn't overly crazy until the second time around, really.
Anyway, Miki's an incredibly fun character, she and Kurosu get along great so it's fun to watch their antics and shenanigans. The real psychological stuff doesn't really kick in until Taichi's in situations where he's by himself, but those brief glimpses inside his head set the atmosphere of the whole thing really well.

I was planning to do this before, but I guess I'll do it now since I have a small window of opportunity.

I would like to apologize for offending anyone for my 'critics' reply. I did not mean to attack anyone. I even tried to emphasize on the word 'some,' meaning 'not all' critics tend to be bad at what they criticize.

It can safely be said that there are some critics who are even better at what they are criticizing than the criticizee themselves can produce. Of course, those are the people who we want criticism from, if anything. To help improve what we are doing.

Which is why I said what I did say. To encourage a bit of empathy. We are all in the same position when it comes to writing. And yet we all sign a contract dooming us to inevitable criticism.

I never tried to get across that the writers of /seacats/ were bad writers. But that doesn't mean we are the best either. And even though it might be bad writing and we give out criticism for the better, we should at least try to place ourselves in those other writers' shoes. Because eventually, we will be there. Or we have been there. And we know it's never fun to be there.

Long story short, I apologize for offending anyone. Though I still stand on my empathy toward writers stance, I do realize everyone has the right to criticize. Just try to remember that someday, you'll be at the opposite end.

Well, it would take genuine effort to be as bad a writer as someone like Ryukishi, so at least none of us are that poor at it.
Though for the record I wasn't particularly disagreeing with you on the point you were trying to make, and I hope that should I ever be on the receiving end of your criticism that you be brutally honest and point out just how terrible and riddled with flaws my work may be.

While I will heartily receive any and all criticism regarding my work, I can understand how nice it is to also receive compliments for your work as well~ So I can agree with the point on trying to raise up a work at least as much as you bring it down, particularly if it's a piece you like~!

In other words, it's nice to sprinkle in praise with any criticism you can manage~

Well, R07 wasn't all that bad. In fact, I thought it was pretty good in all. I just think he executed some of his ideas poorly, though I believe most of us knew what he was trying to convey.
For example, I was talking to Rin about this earlier, and Yasu had alot of elements which made R07 and other stories famous. But it's just like a meal. If you add too many good sauces on it, it turns out being... this strange goop that not even the original creator knew what it was.
But enough of that.

Well, I don't like being brutal. Rather, I like a gentler touch. Being a good critic is to notice the good and the bad, right?

Criticism can be good or bad, depending on how it's wielded. I just want to bring some empathy into other people's work so when the time comes for their work to be judged, they'll already know that there are some 'tough' critics waiting for them.

But yes, compliments are always nice.

Hmm. Certainly, certainly, this is true for most people. Well, I won't deny that much. Speaking from personal preference though, I'd rather my criticizer be harsh and hold nothing back when commenting on where I've gone wrong. Being a being of God-like perfectionism in my existence, I already know that I'm wonderfully intelligent and limitlessly talented in many ways. However, even the final boss has some kind of weakness in his attack patterns that can be targeted and taken advantage of in order to cut his health down more efficiently, otherwise he'd be pretty much unbeatable and the game would end there.
I mean in other words, I already know what I'm good at, I want people to point out what I'm bad at.

I don't think it's as much an issue when the author whose work you're criticising probably won't even read what you write. I agree that if it's done towards the person you should also provide what you like, but I don't think it's such a bad thing to vent about parts you dislike when in no vicinity of the creator of the work.

Ah so it's blocks off the other content anyway eh? Well I guess that helps, I didn't want to have to re-install after fishing 3 routes. Although I wonder if I'll still be half inclined to read the EX routes even after I finish the normal game. Since I don't expect the translations to come along any time soon.
