Has anyone else had things like that happen before? Where so many things just go a certain way, pushing something to happen to you, that wouldn't have happened if any one of the first things wouldn't have happened.

I've been doing ok, I suppose. More or less try to cope with not having much access to computers. Been watch classic 3D people television and reading books mostly, since I don't have much else to do.

Since anything I was working on before, I can't work on. So writing, (which was most of my day before) is pretty much out the window. Though that doesn't stop my brain from thinking of my umi-projects and bug me about them.

Eh? No. I don't slingshot for Macemen, I slingshot for Bureaucracy (and to a lesser extent, farm-chaining). Seems like it'd be very hard to get Machinery before someone lands the Oracle.

Bureaucracy is great in the early game when you have a capital working 3-4 mature/river cottages, and it's not too impossible to generate a great scientist for an Academy by running 2 scientists in a library for a while. Pull that off and you can do some crazy teching (I can usually hit my nearest enemy with maces before they reach longbows).

It depends. If I have maces and my opponent doesn't have longbows there's no reason really NOT to steamroll them. Maces demolish pretty much everything of a lower level of tech except War Elephants and Horse Archers, neither of which the AI is very fond of building.

Of course gunpowder's a cheap tech so I usually wouldn't Liberalism slingshot that. Nationalism is a good one, but often I'm so far ahead in technology by the time I reach liberalism that I can push for Steam Power.

Sometimes you just have to delete the element that's causing you trouble and start again. Usually it won't mess it up twice. IE if a particular power or mode of movement is showing up wrong and you can't fix it, remove the element and re-add it.

Inami ruined S1 for me, I ended up dropping it before Yamada even appeared. I picked up the show with promise of Poplar, why was I not given more Poplar.
That said I've heard a lot of good things about S2. Would you say it's worth going back and finishing season 1, for how much better season 2 has been so far?

The only thing bugging me about the movies is that 2/3 of them are apparently just going to be an adaptation of the TV series. I hate it when studios just repackage the same thing in a different box and call it something new, because 9 times out of 10 it's obvious that it's only being done because the creators know it'll sell.
As for Madoka in particular, I personally thought it was above average but nothing really special. The incredibly loud fanbase is a bit of a pain in the ass, though.

I'm actually behind on Fate/Zero by a couple of episodes, come to think of it. Well, I'm in the mood for more Slice-of-Life anime at the minute since I've started catching up on Tamayura, so I'll just leave Fate/Zero for later.

No. I had to delete all my .ini files and retweak them. My character has no animations at one point, it was pretty funny. Also, forcing AA through graphic card settings yields some good results.
