And I can respect that point of view and way of living. I've already come to terms with the fact that everybody has their own views and opinions and I'm not one to force my own ideals onto others, but a healthy debate about the subject is a good way to kill some time, no?
However, from my viewpoint whenever presented with a decision that will have some impact on one's way of living, the logical choice should take priority over the emotional one.
As for the second point there, I like it. You make a good argument there. Indeed, foreign substances can also imbalance the brain in the same way, and give similar effects. I'd be lying if I said I didn't rely on such substances just to make it through the day myself, even I make such illogical decisions to sustain my lifestyle.
However, if you'd then go on to argue that such things only provide 'fake' or 'artificial' pleasure, I'd have to strongly disagree. Such substances may be artificial in nature, but their effect on the body is a purely natural thing, so if one derives pleasure from such things then it is naturally earned pleasure and is no more 'fake' then the joy of listening to good music or reading a good book.
