Personally, I don't really get this obsession with rivals and such. Maybe a few years ago, but now that I've mellowed out I just kinda want to take it easy and cruise along at a nice, slow pace.
Though to be honest, that's probably because I've been given the easy ticket through life and don't even have to work for it. When what you want is practically handed to you rather than having to work for it, you just kinda lose any motivation to work at all.

It's weird, too. I used to be at my most comfortable when my life was in complete chaos, because I'd had so long to get used to it. Now that the storm's passed, my old ambitions have flown away with the winds.
I'm not sure whether I should be pleased by the fact that I don't have to run life's rat race, or disappointed that I'll likely never accomplish the kinds of things I otherwise could have.

Well, there's my weekly rant on life. Take it as you will, I suppose.

There is some degree of that for me as well. It's of course fine to ignore a long conversation you're not at all interested in. But being openly spiteful because a conversation occurred is not the same. I never assumed any third party was interested in the first place. That doesn't usually cross my mind when I'm just talking to someone.
