That makes me sad. While they aren't the best stories or mysteries. It was fun to try and come up with the various theories of things that could be happening. RIP When They Cry. I'll miss you.

Also has anyone heard about his next work which is mentioned in that interview. (Nothing aside from their should be an announcement was in that interview.)

Hey, the no naku koroni series is not dead.
It's just than writing Umineko sure was tiring from him, and doing a new story without giving it some time would probably have a bad aftertaste.
I believe it's a wise choice.

I agree it is a wise choice to take a break. Umineko probably wore him out completely for 4 whole years.

But because of his word choices. "Heavy heart." It looks like he is done with WTC, maybe not forever, but not for a long time. 4 years, 6 years, 8 years? Maybe more even.

If he wanted to take a break, he could have said it differently. Everyone would have understood if he said he wanted to take a year long break from writing. But because he says he is putting it to rest makes me feel otherwise.

Though I would gladly be wrong, and see another WTC next winter, or fall 2013.

Sometimes, I get some error 1900 messages from time to time, but they won't occur if you're just using it for basic programs.

If your dad gets a mac, just let him know that it's best to leave it be when it's installing updates etc.

Assuming he doesn't read Umineko or install a windows partition to play eroge, he should be fine.

Also, Macbook Pros have terrible battery lives.

Being honest, the sub-culture have some similar traits, but indeed, Linux Operative Systems have several things that make it superior to Windows, it's just than people is too used to Microsoft software and Linux is not as friendly what makes it so unpopular.
