Rosa stared at her plate emptily. Rudolf chuckled.

"Honestly, Rosa. How old are you? You still can't eat something if it has tomatoes in it?" Rosa avoided her brother's smirk. His teasing really reminded her of when they all lived together in father's house.

There was a clinking of cutlery and another voice. "I'll swap with you." Rosa looked up in surprise, her eyes meeting Kyrie's, who was now offering her plate with a cool smile.

"Don't worry," Kyrie added. "Our dishes are almost the same. Gohda will be just as happy to know we enjoyed our meals."

The other family members began chatting among themselves. Soon, lunch was over. Everyone but Rudolf, Kyrie and Hideyoshi left the room in order to take a break.

The clock struck 1pm. It was time for the dining hall meeting to recommence. Rosa, Rudolf, Kyrie, Natsuhi and Hideyoshi were all in attendance - but there was no sign of either Eva or Krauss. Everyone waited. As her nerves became all the more intense, Natsuhi apologised to everyone on behalf of her husband's tardiness.

Everything was silent save for the sound of the rain outside. Suddenly, the sound of running echoed throughout the halls.

"Gohda!! Where are the chain cutters?" Eva barked as she burst into the kitchen. The chef looked terrified.

"Ma'am, they're in the storehouse," he gulped. Without waiting for another word, the woman ran back into the hallway and called for Genji. Although he couldn't shake his nervousness, Gohda slumped in his seat. Since he'd already cooked a unique meal for every member of the family, he was far too exhausted to follow one of Eva's whims. This time, he was able to let someone else handle it for him.

He didn't notice several droplets of water on the floor where Eva stood.

Kanon, Shannon, Genji and Eva arrived at Eva's bedroom. The door was already unlocked, as Eva explained, since she had used her key to open it. Genji broke the chain lock with his cutting instrument and opened the door fully. Eva froze as she saw Krauss sprawled out across the floor in an unnatural, uncomfortable position. She immediately dashed over to him and began shaking him, demanding that he wake up.

Alas, there was no response.

Without further ado, I'll start working on part number 3. The murderer escaped through a window in Eva's room, which was shut behind them, but left unlocked, merely creating the appearance of a closed room.

I can do the simple start thing. Should be a fair question.

Any wounds or other giveaway signs of the cause of death on the body?

Of course, it's important we clear up some information at the beginning, no?

The window to Eva's room was locked and can only be locked from the inside. I'm surprised I didn't put that one in the story.

And secondly, in response to Rune:

A detailed investigation was not yet performed at the time of the game's conclusion, but no wounds were discovered by anyone present.

Gohda was planning to murder Eva. In order to do so, he poisoned her meal. Eva and Krauss swapped meals at the dinner table. After lunch, Eva took Krauss aside and agreed to have a chat about the inheritance in private, which is why Eva left Hideyoshi behind after lunch concluded.

During break, Eva took Krauss to her room and held a discussion with him. However, she needed the bathroom and left the room, locking it behind her. Krauss added the chain for extra security, in order to satisfy Eva's fear that she'd be seen speaking on good terms with Krauss.

Whenever Eva returned from the bathroom however, there was no response from the door. Krauss had died from poisoning inside the room. This is when she went to find Genji.
