"It was necessary. The whole room was under the belief that we had committed the crime and wasn't even willing to think of other possible solutions or even examine the room, fully believing they had already found the truth."
I frown. "I know we look suspious, but you have to believe us. Well, you don't 'have to' but we want you too. We are just as confused as anyone, if not more so. We were in completely different rooms, and then woke up to that horrid state. I know the chips are all seem to fall in place for us to be the answer. But that is the why it doesn't work. The act that it all fits together so well is the reason why it needs to be questioned, is it not?"
I explain to him fully what I mean. "I'm sure you understand this without having me to explain it. But it just fits too perfect, it doesn't work as a plan. Let's take for a moment and say that this 'truth' is the truth. Where is the escape route? If this were the truth, it doesn't work for the culprit. Since there is no way out. The real culprit clearly plans on continuing this 'murder game.'"
I frown and shake my head as I say the last part. I cringe and then try to regain my composure.
"But we were lucky they didn't kill us on the spot when they found the room. It almost came to that, to being lynched on the spot. Why would the culprit not give themselves a way out? If they wanted to kill more, and they clearly do, they needed to not be caught, or even under suspicion right now. It is the only way for the 'game' to continue. You understand that don't you. You seem like a smart person, so I'm sure that you realized this as well, and that is why you approached us because you realized that this is just a trap by the real culprit. It is the only thing that makes sense, from the point of view of the culprit and their desire for this 'murder game' to continue."
I smile at him after explaining all that. "I'd glad we have someone smart like you as our ally."
