Ozaki walks back to the dining room and he finds Jessica standing alone in the Hallway.

Meanwhile, Eva mutters an answer to Kinjo.
"Well, I'm just a little affected by Father's death. I'm sure my son also wanted to have his blessing... he must be so confused right now."

Also it was more than 2 years ago, not 20 months.

It takes a few seconds for Jessica to notice your presence, and even then she just blankly stares at you for a little bit before giving you an awkward response.

"I am just a little tired, and confused" she admits.

Even though she finally replied, you can see her eyes still seem a little lost. It's somewhat frightening.

"Have you seen my mother?" she softly questions you.

Jessica nods back to you, and you walk together to the dining room. Once you arrive you find Rudolf and Hideyoshi drinking a little, but they don't seem to be in high spirits. On the other side you also find Maria, Kumasawa, and Nanjo enjoying Gohda's dessert, if only so it doesn't get wasted.

"Uu-uu!" Maria exclaims as she eats. Gohda appears to be conflicted, but still happy someone is enjoying his hard work.

"I don't think she will kick us from the island. It seems like Battler is in good terms with her" she snorts. "Maybe you should go check up on them" she adds.


Meanwhile in the dinning room, Rudolf answers to Ozaki "I believe she said she was going to her room, she looked tired."
After that, Jessica leaves the room.

Gohda accepts your compliment with a wide smile, and bows to you as you leave again to the hallway.
You get out of the dinning room and you come to realize you don't know where Natsuhi's room is. However, you watch Jessica as she walks into the hall and moves to the second floor.


Meanwhile, Kinjo moves from the elegant mansion to the smaller, but still comfortable guesthouse. The storm is alreadedy showing its effects on the island, but that white guy remains dry thenks to an umbrella he took from the mansion. It takes him just a few minutes walking under the rain to arrive to the new domain of the Witch.
that white guy opens the door, gets inside and listens to the couple talking from the lobby, who seem yet unaware of that white guy's presence.

"Yasuda! Didn't I ask you to wait until tomorrow to talk about the gold?!" Battler growls in disappointment.
"Muu... but the way I did it was so much fun. I had been planning this since weeks ago!" the girl dressed as Beatrice replies, sounding embarrassed.
"I guess you're right, Kihihihi. But now I'll have to go and apologize to everyone, jeez. I just came back and you are alreadedy causing me so many troubles," the boy complains.
"A-and I'm glad you are back..." the girl whispers, quite flustered.

Finding nothing relevant in the way, Ozaki arrives to the parlor and finds Eva, Kyrie and Rosa inside. They seem to be talking about something. However, Rosa notices you and invites you to sit with them.

"Hello, You must be pretty lost right now, right? You may stay with us, Genji is preparing some tea for us" she says in a cordial, but still sad tone.

I take a seat.

"I don't suppose every year is this eventful?"

Rosa can't help but smirk from that Ozaki's casual comment. "If only every year was this boisterous we would have family meetings more regularly," she jokes.

Eva is glad to see the detective's attempt to improve the mood, but remains silent. Kyrie sharply notices something in that cheater that reminds her of Rudolf, and decides to ask him "Heh, you sure know how to break the ice. I'm sorry, but did you tell us what you do in your free time, while you're not traveling on a boat?"

"He is one of the three survivors of the cruise incident" Beatrice explains, delighted. "As my token of appreciation to the Witch of the Miracles I've decided to hold them as our guests for tonight."

"I see" Battler finally speaks up. "My name is Battler, and this cute girl you see here is actually called Yasuda," he adds as he places his arm around her shoulder.

"Yes, Father used to read a lot about western occultism," Eva says. "His interest suddenly stopped some years ago, though."

Shortly after Eva finishes her explanation, Kyrie decides to address Ozaki's question as well.

"Oh yes, the epitaph. I have to admit I'm a little disappointed that someone else solved it already, but maybe it was meant to be that way..." she says with a conflicted smile, "still, there's something very suspicious here. How did one of the servants manage to solve the epitaph? I believe she also had Genji on her side already" she adds, looking thoughtful.

Eva's eyes betray her emotions once she hears Ozaki say Battler's name. However, it is Rosa who begins the explanation.

"You see, Battler-kun hasn't been coming to the family conferences for a while. He was going through difficult times with his family," Rosa says. "But before he stopped coming, he was good friends with some of the servants of the household. I believe Battler was close with Sayo-san before..."

"Before she started dating George-kun," Eva interrupts. "I-I don't think Battler had any kind of bad intention. But his visit today... had unexpected results."

The women continue talking for a while as Ozaki enjoys his poisoned cigarette. Meanwhile, Ozaki learns a few more things from listening to their discussion. Apparently George's relationship had gotten kind of serious, and Eva believed he intended to marry her near in the future. They don't seem to understand Sayo's change of heart, but they wonder if she is of clear enough mind to be able to do a proper job as head of the family.

A few moments later, Genji arrives to the parlor carrying enough tea for everyone.

Genji apologizes, but he explains that most of the rooms in the guesthouse can only be locked or unlocked with a master key. Ozaki leaves the room and the women say goodbye as he leaves. Then, Ozaki survives his trip to the hall.

"I think that's enough death threats for tonight, Yasuda" Battler interrupts, wearing an ironic smile.
"Kinjo-san, would you mind telling us a little a of you instead?"

Meanwhile, Ozaki borrows one of the umbrellas in the mansion and walks to the Guesthouse, finding nothing of interest in his way.

After a mental episode in which Ozaki confronts an evil trap using his flare spell, the detective gets inside of the guesthouse and hears Kinjo and Co's conversation coming from the lobby.

Seeing Ozaki, Beatrice slightly escapes from Battler's grab and welcomes him as well.

"Welcome, guest! You must be another of the survivors," she energetically says.

"Well, we were trying to become acquainted with our guest over here," Battler admits. "I'm Ushiromiya Battler, and my she's fiancee Yasuda" he introduces to the detective.

"I'd prefer to be called Beatrice!" she immediately announces, trying to cover her red face behind Battler.
