Anyway, I hope this summer will be memorable with you all, even though I'm still not sure entirely what we're doing yet."

"Well then while I also seem to be missing items let my repeat myself now for those who did not hear me the first time.
My name is Toshio Ozaki by profession I am a physician so feel free to call me Doctor.

Anyway that is besides the point. I was promised mysteries upon coming here and that's what I plan to solve. Have any of you seen this Kinjo yet? I bet he can answer our question of missing items."

Suddenly the wind picks up and it feels as if you are being pushed off the ground by an earthquake. The sounds of several booms reverberate through the air, and upon turning around you can see that all of the tents are being blown apart by missiles! Small dents in the ground have taken their place. Surely anyone who was still sleeping would have been destroyed...

Looking above, you spot a giant helicopter patrolling the area. It's coming closer...! The helicopter dives downward, brushing near the ground past everyone, only to fly back up.

It turns around and again flies downward at high speed, this time crashing into the "Watch out for bears!" sign.

Looks like it made a small crater... Who's gonna go check it out?

"What are you bastards staring at?! You act like you've never seen a talking bear before! ...Anyway, I should introduce myself. I'm Monobear, your camp leader! Nice to meet you!"

Rudolf approaches the bear and asks him the following questions:

Monobear walks back to his half-destroyed helicopter, apparently looking for something.

"Now then, there are some important rules you bastards need to follow. Take a look for yourselves!"

He returns with a signpost and bulletin board, which he plants firmly into the ground. Monobear looks at the bulletin board, reading off the list of rules one by one:

1. The campers will live a communal lifestyle with no time limit inside the campground's walls.
2. The time between 10 PM and 7 AM is called “Night Time”. During Night Time there are places that are forbidden to enter, so please take care.
3. Sleeping is only permitted in the personal rooms prepared for you in the dormitory area. Anyone intentionally falling asleep elsewhere will be punished.
4. You may investigate the campground as you please. There are no special restrictions on your actions.
5. No violence is permitted against the camp leader, Monobear. Destruction of the surveillance cameras is forbidden.
6. A “culprit” who kills a fellow camper will graduate the camp. However, they must not let any other camper know they are the culprit.
7. Additional rules may be added by Monobear at any time.

Everyone turns their attention to the gigantic TV screens popping out of the ground, taller than even the trees... And just like that, Monobear disappeared into the forest.

The real game begins now. Who can you trust? Who will become a murderer? Will everyone live with hope or fall into despair?

"Well then, in light of these unusual circumstances...I think it would be for the best if we all make sure to stick together. That way, none of us can do anything without someone else noticing, thus stopping anyone from taking the chance to 'graduate'. This seems to be the best way to ensure that everyone survives this ordeal. ...What do you think, everyone?"

The man known as Rudolf has a different opinion however: "Hold on, missy. The problem is that I can't say for certainty that we're all in the same boat here. If this really is a controlled experiment, there must be certain elements placed to force us into suspicion.

I'd expect that at least one of us here is not an innocent who was dragged into the ordeal. This person must be planted to plants the seeds of distrust in us and will likely be the first to strike.

So, I feel that we should assume everyone to be trustworthy until we are given a solid reason to think otherwise. ...That's my view, anyway. Obviously we will need to keep a close eye on everyone regardless. ...Anyway, I agree with Lucas-san. We should investigate everywhere thoroughly before we make any firm decisions. Does anyone have any particular preference as to where they would like us to investigate first?"

Kedgeworth: "..Right. So now we know who to look out for. Let's just head to the dormitory area."

Rudolf: "The rooms. We all need to check our belongings. Might as well make an inventory list of all the things we have at our disposal. While we're at it, we can check all the room locks to make sure only a single key (our own) can open each room."

Kirigiri: "I'll be by myself." She then heads off to the dorm area as well.

Lucas: "Splendid idea Rudolf. Just in case anyone tries anything fancy in their rooms with what they brought with them, we should go in each room one by one, or at least stand in front of each other's open door at the very least. Though, I sincerely doubt anyone wants to hide anything at this point. I then recommend we should head to the cafeteria to see what we can grab. The sooner the better before those who left can gain an advantage."

Sticking together,the group (Blake, Kedgeworth, Victoria, Rika, Philip, Mion, Rudolf, Kazuichi, Drosselmeyer, and Lucas) heads to the dormitory.

Drosselmeyer: "This is a waste of time, we should all try it at the same time, besides why would I let the possible culprit how to enter my room?"

I don't think anyone needs to start feeling suspicion immediately. Of course, inevitably there shall be attempted murder amongst us, but it's safe to say that, for the time being, we are probably all much to unfamiliar with the situation to start cutting each others throats right off the back. Let's all relax, for now, shall we? For now," he says, smiling -- granted, his smile is bitter, as he's clearly enjoying this turn of events not one bit; he smiles nonetheless, to hopefully calm himself and the suspicious inclination of the others."

Kazuichi: "... Well, I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm grabbing by stuff back before anything else." He then leaves the group.

Lucas shows the group the items he found:

Lucas: "Hopefully we can get who owns what sorted out, along with each person wielding some sort of defensive tool as we investigate the campground to assess the situation. Rudolf does the same after inspecting his room:

Rudolf: "Not exactly everything I brought, though the dishes I certainly recall as having been mine."

According to data found in the cellphone its owner goes by the name of "Dark Kamijou."

The journals in the briefcase are signed with Lucas's signature, and Rudolf returns it to him.

Rika: "Ah, now that you mention it, I think I did bring a pen and paper. I'll take those if you don't mind."

Rika scribbles the names of each item down on the paper.

Rika: "...Also, I'd like to point something out to anyone who's thinking of going off on their own. According to that bear's rules, a culprit can only leave if nobody realises that they are the culprit. ...In other words, they have to kill with no witnesses. Therefore, staying in a large group essentially makes it impossible for the culprit to act, because assaulting any member of the group will immediately alert the rest of us. Basically, the more you isolate yourself, the more you make yourself into a potential victim. Just saying~"

Rika then enters her room.

Kedgeworth: ""Apparently that isn't what some people think, Rika. Even though it's probably the most efficient way to not let anyone die. I don't really think there's any need to follow a specific order in checking rooms and that might prove to be difficult in the first place. It's not like the rooms are really far apart. So I'd rather check mine with the rest of you now so that I don't get suspected of hiding anything."

Kedge then leads the investigation to his own room.

Rudolf: "I assume I can leave you guys to making the inventory then? I'm starving and think I'd like to go to the cafeteria before they close tonight." He goes to the cafeteria.

Kedgeworth: "*sigh* Well, looks like I don't even have a pen to defend myself with. But here you go. I'm off to the cafeteria as well. Anyone's welcome to join."

Rika then comes out of her room with the following:

Rika: "Hm, I don't believe that any of these are mine...Although it could just be my amnesia acting up again. Anyway, none of this looks particularly dangerous, so you can all take whatever you want.

...But there is something quite interesting that occurred to me just now. Victoria, would you mind if I asked you a question? It's about something that Mion-chan heard you say back before any of this started. She told me that you said something about the bears here being cute. ...Would you mind explaining what you meant by that statement? I really want to trust you, but I can't help but see that as slightly suspicious given that weird bear that appeared shortly afterwards. Furthermore, I haven't heard you speak a word this entire time. You have to admit that your actions are a little strange in this situation. Please, would you mind explaining yourself to us? We shouldn't hide anything from each other; it will only cause suspicion that will hurt the whole group later. If you did know something about that bear before the rest of us saw it, then I think we have a right to hear about it."

"Ah! Sorry, I was lost in looking at the scenery and enjoying it. Well, most bears are cute and cuddly. You see them at the zoo at stuff. I one time went to the zoo with Cade and Kari the people I live with, it was so much funny, the bears were running and playing, they even had these cute little cubs. I asked Kari if they were bigger versions of her own teddy bear, but she told me Mr. Bear was stuffed so he wasn't going to grow up to be like a bear cub. That was a little sad, I was hoping he would get bigger and we could play. But that bear, didn't look cute like the ones at the zoo, I'm sad. He should really take lessons from the bears at the zoo, they are much cuter.

And I do apologize for being silent, I've just been taking in this wonderful scenery, it is so much different than the city I live in. This is the first time I've ever been in a location like this.

That said, what was the bear talking about anyway? Graduating? That sounds silly. Why would you want to leave this wonderful place? It is so nice and beautiful, and life is so precious taking someone's is... that is... really cruel.

And those methods! Oh my goodness, how can someone talk like that! Oh hiding anything, as far as I know, no. I'm not holding anything in my pockets or anything, so I don't think so? I did a bit of tinkering with the windows, and they're really secure. Couldn't find a way to lock them without, well locking them. Also, I've got a picture of someone's boyfriend and a water purifier that don't belong to me in my room, and my fishing rod's missing. I'm more than happy to trade to get it back.

Finally, there's a scrap-yard of sorts to the north of here, from what I've learned. Whilst I won't go into anyone's rooms, I was wondering of one or both of you would mind scouting it out with me?"

Mion: "That seems interesting! I am getting bored waiting around here. But I really want to know what's inside of my room too! Do you mind if I go see what's in there before we go outside? Maybe I have your fishing rod, who knows."

Mion (to Rika): "I am very sorry, for a moment I thought you left with Lucas. What do you think about this idea? If I stay here longer i'm going to die of boredom."

Rika: "Yeah, we have been stuck here for quite a while, huh? Sorry about holding us up like that. Maybe we shouldn't be disturbing people immediately after they've gone into their rooms. I suppose that if the four of us are the only ones who are willing to stick together, we may as well go and investigate the area ourselves and then come back to check on the others later. Anyway, we should probably check Mion-chan's room regardless, so I guess that will be our first stop."

Kazuichi: "I'm fine with hanging around here until you're done. Just don't take too long, 'kay?"

You are greeted by a long hallway with poor lighting. Cold, metallic walls and floor surround you. There are several small dumpsters scattered about the hall as well, emitting a putrid, almost burnt odor as you walk by.

"Hello Kirigiri, and Kedgeworth, are you guys playing hide and seek?"

Mion: "Oh hi, I'm sorry we were looking for Ozaki. Have you seen him?"

Kirigiri: "...Ozaki?"

Kirigiri nods and points to the door to the generator room, she then looks to Victoria.

Kirigiri: "Kedgeworth, myself, and a few other guys were investigating the campsite."

Kirigiri: ""...I believe that would be the former owner of the camp, the one who invited us here.."

She is then interrupted by the sound of a thud knocking against the door, just before Mion opens it. Inside is Ozaki, standing right in front of the door.

Ozaki: "Hey what is all the commotion out here?"

Ozaki heads into one of the other rooms. Mion goes outside.

Kirigiri: "I was investigating the campsite as a whole with Kedgeworth, Blake, and Lucas. I believe I'm done here.."

Kirigiri nods and heads out of the waste facility, signaling for Kedgeworth to do the same.

Rika: Rika: "Wait, ah, you guys...Would you mind telling us what you found in your rooms? It's possible that you have items that belong to us. We can share what we've found with you too, if you like. It's important that we all keep in touch with each other, right?"

Ozaki goes in and out of each room. "Oh there are items inside the rooms? I haven't been there yet. I guess I'll check that out later, thanks for telling me." He continues looking around.

Mion looks outside and begins to follow the trail north, away from the dorm.

Rika: "Well then, are we ready to leave? It doesn't look like we're going to find anything else here...Anyone have any ideas on what to do next?"

Mion leads you both on the north trail. After some walking you are stopped in your tracks by a gigantic wall.

There appears to be a tunnel through it, but it's currently sealed off. A sign on it says "NORTH QUADRANT".

Upon seeing this Mion suggests returning to the dorm, as you all begin to feel hungry.

There is an anti-picking mechanism installed in the room’s locks. Duplicating the keys is difficult, so make sure you don’t lose yours. There is a shower installed in every room. Please note that during Night Time no water comes out. Additionally, only the shower rooms in girls’ rooms can be locked.

Finally, I have prepared a small present for you. In each room is a box containing five items. Those items are what you brought with you to the campsite. However, all of them were accidentally mixed together, and I had to sort them out by hand. Oops! This means you might not get what you originally brought! Well, mistakes happen! ...Also, you bastards sure love pen and paper! Almost every one of you asked for it!"

Suddenly all the TVs nearby turn on, displaying a picture of Monobear.

"Hello, everyone! One of you bastards asked me about setting fire to the forest, so I added a new rule:

New Rule: Anyone found to be destroying trees or other local flora will be severely punished! Non-destructive modification is allowed.

I hope that clears the situation up for you bastards. As for the buildings, they're fireproof. Trust me on this one. Because I'm a bear. And remember, only YOU BASTARDS can prevent forest fires!"

The TVs return to normal.

If anyone knocks, don't let them in until you've made sure that it's me or Mion-chan, okay? That applies to any time when you're in here on your own...Make sure you don't go wandering around during the night alone or anything like that. If there's somewhere you really need to go, knock on my door or Mion-chan's first so that we can come with you. As long as you always stick with one of us whenever you're outside this room, you should be okay.

...I'm only saying this because you don't seem to have grasped exactly how dangerous our situation is. I know it's probably hard for you to believe, but I am sure that there are people among us who would be willing to kill one of us for the chance to get out of here, given the opportunity. We have to make sure that they don't get that chance. I'm pretty sure that Mion-chan is trustworthy, and I know that I am, but I don't know about anyone else. Just make sure that you keep that in mind. I really want all of us to get through this...

Games like this that reward cruelty and violence are disgusting. Normally, in a game like this, a naive and trusting person like you would be the first to die. I really don't want that to happen. Rika leaves and then returns, knocking on your door.

Rika: "Victoria, it's Rika. May Mion-chan and I come in?"

Mion enters the room and sits down on Victoria's bed.

This might be a good time to gather information and think about our next plan."

Rudolf: "I know for certainty that the shovel was mine, and I believe the zippo lighter as mine too. Any chance I can get those back? Most especially the shovel as I've always been rather fond of it. Or do I need to ask the people who still have them?"

Rudolf then turns to Mion and says "May I please have my shovel back?"

Mion: "Ohhhh, did you know that it could even open up canned foods? Yeah, give me a second, I'll go get it."

Mions stands up and leaves the room. Very quickly afterward she returns with the shovel and gives it to him.

Turning the everyone else in the room Rudolf says "True, we need to discuss our next course of action. Granted, I'm almost tempted to say we shouldn't stay in too large of a group, as we will be unable to move about and explore very effectively. Teams of 2 or 3 would likely be most effective."

Besides which, it's difficult to form close relationships and come to trust each other when there are so many people to keep track of...It's regrettable that I can't keep an eye on everyone, but it seems like staying in smaller groups is the best way to go from here.

I don't know if you're aware, Rudolf-san, but Victoria, Mion-chan and I have been working as a group for the past little while. I feel that I can trust both of them, and that we make a good team, so I'm hoping that we can try and stick together throughout this game. If we always try and stay with each other, then we should never be isolated, which should prevent any potential culprits from being able to attack. I don't know you very well at this stage, Rudolf-san, but if you are interested in joining our group, I wouldn't object.

That said, I feel that splitting into groups of two would be a bad idea. The reason for this is that, on the off chance that one of the two isn't trustworthy, they could murder their partner without any witnesses and "graduate". Therefore, I think it is best if we try to stay in groups of three or more at all times if at all possible. Of course, I'm not saying that I would feel afraid to be alone with Victoria or Mion-chan, but setting aside emotional reasons, it is a logical precaution to take."

Ozaki: "Yes... ... people should be sleeping right now. Everyone else has their lights off. I was worried that you guys were planning something but it seems your conversation is civil enough. You should get some sleep, night."

Ozaki then goes to his room. Rudolf also goes to his own.

Mion: "Shhhh, not so loud people might still be spying." Mion checks the door to make sure.

Mion: "There is still a detail I want to settle before I speak more.

Victoria, the plan I had in mind was originally intended to be for me and Rika alone. However, Rika decided not to trust me entirely and wishes to work as a group of 3. Even if I find this a little bit irritating, I can't complain.

Victoria, this is very important , you have to keep this a secret from everyone else, or this idea of mine won't work. Can I trust you?"

Mion: "Perfect. Where did I get it? You will know in time. I am giving it to you as a proof that our alliance isn't just words. I can guarantee that this is a copy of Rudolf's golden card."

She is about to leave. "Well then, Ill leave it at that for tonight, take care of yourself my friends and good night."

Mion then returns to her room.

A short time later you notice the lights flicker on and off a few times. It remains dark for a few minutes before light is finally restored.

Monobear Theater

Monobear: "You know, I always try to do my best, but sometimes I just get distracted. It's really annoying when you're sitting there innocently, and all of a sudden a fly comes and interrupts your thoughts! And it happens again and again! It's almost like they want you to hit them! ...However, if I hit them, I question my morality. What makes it okay to kill bugs, but not people? Why is it okay to torture farm animals in factories to feed ourselves but feel great shame from watching those animal shelter commercials featuring dogs and cats? ...The ramifications of this double standard plague my thoughts too often."

((And so ends Day 1. That took way too long. I'll try and speed up the posting, but you guys better get killing each other soon. Or else we won't have anything to solve! However, you all did a good job exploring places. I look forward to a calmer playing speed... hopefully, less posts with more meaning, allowing the passage of in-game time to go faster. I've noticed that activity is at its highest from 7-12 and 16-20 board time, so perhaps you can plan ahead to post then. It's good to take a break from posting every now and then.))

Rika "Mi-. Good morning. I wonder where Drosselmeyer is? ......I suppose I shouldn't be too paranoid about it. He could just be sleeping in. I guess we'll just have to see whether he arrives or not."

Rudolf: "Looks like we've got to go find Drosselmeyer. Hopefully nothing ill has befallen them."

Kedgeworth: "Anyone notice the lack of knives? Seems like someone's been busy."

Ozaki goes out the backdoor to investigate. He quickly returns saying that Drosselmeyer's room looks messed up and that he will be breaking in through the window. Lucas and Kedgeworth follow him.

Suddenly the TV turns on, and you see Monobear on the screen.

"Attention, you bastards! A body has been discovered! Following a brief period of investigation, we will commence our camp trial!

Let me explain the supplementary rules regarding 'graduation'!! The fact that 'someone who kills another can graduate the school' remains unchanged, but... There is one more clause to that rule that must be checked, right? It’s no good just killing someone. You must hide what you’ve from everyone else! And so, the system to judge whether that was accomplished or not... ...is a 'camp trial' session we will enact a short time after a killing occurs! This 'camp trial' will commence a few hours after murder takes place! It will be a battle between the 'culprit' who committed murder... And the 'innocents' - the rest of you students!!

During trial, you will get a chance to debate 'who among us is the hidden killer' among yourselves. The result will be decided by vote, held at the end of the trial session. And then, if the answer you reach is the correct one... The culprit who disrupted public order will be 'punished', and the rest can go on living our camp’s communal lifestyle. On the other hand, if the wrong person is voted for as the culprit... The real culprit who committed the crime stays alive, but all the innocents will be 'punished'. If that happens, that will also be the end of our communal lifestyle, of course!

If I may speak bluntly... I’m talking about execution, of course! Execution means execution. Eh-kse-kyu-shon. Zap-zap in the electric chair! Choke-choke from poison gas! Maybe I’ll tear your body up in a hurricane storm! Judging people is a duty not to be taken lightly. Your very lives depend on it! Those are the rules of the 'camp trial'!!

Isn’t it time you start your investigation into who the culprit is? This is a file I’ve written, containing details about the body. It’s name is... ...The Monobear File!! It didn’t escape me that I’m dealing with a bunch of amateurs here and there’s a limit to what you can learn from examining the body... So instead, I gathered up technical details like the circumstances and cause of death for you. Isn’t that handy?! Aren’t you dying to know how I know the cause of death? I saw the whole thing happen through the surveillance cameras! I’m a first-hand witness!! Anyways, good luck with your investigation! It’s not like you have any choice! Well then, I’ll see you in a bit at the camp trial!"

MONOBEAR FILE: The victim is Drosselmeyer. The time of death was around 11:45 PM. The body was found in his room. Cause of death is a wound to the face made by a sharp object. Other than that, there are traces of damage to the head and right leg.

Kedgeworth: "All of you heard what the bear said. It's only logical for all of you to come and examine the crime scene before the trial starts and for us to discuss a strategy. I'd appreciate it if none of you decide to be smartasses and run off on your own, considering that it's all of our necks on the line here."

Ozaki turns to you, Mion, and Rika. "So last night I left you three chatting in Victora's room. I know that Rudolf went back to his but I went to sleep after that. Would you mind telling me what happened after? Did you stay the night there or did you go back to your rooms? If the latter at what time and in which order? Also did you notice the lights go off at all during the night?"
