You wake up with a start. Those noisy cicadas must've done it, crying so loudly at this hour...
Where is this place? From what you can tell, you're inside a one-person camping tent. Oh, that's right, you decided to go to Camp Seacat after all...

But isn't it odd? You can't recall what happened once you got here.

In any case, there's no time to waste sitting around; a note found beside your sleeping bag tells you so:

"When you wake up, please meet your fellow campers at the waiting area outside your tent. We will begin the activities once everyone gathers, so please refrain from sleeping in!"

Well, what are you waiting for?

((Both of them. Victoria has decided to tag along as well.))

After some walking you all arrive at what looks to be a giant junkyard. Mounds of trash everywhere, there is a single building amidst it all. There is a sign: "Garbage Disposal Facility".

You walk inside the building, leading the group.

You are greeted by a long hallway with poor lighting. Cold, metallic walls and floor surround you. There are several small dumpsters scattered about the hall as well, emitting a putrid, almost burnt odor as you walk by.

The incinerator looks incredibly hot, as extremely high temperatures radiate out from it. However, to prevent people from falling in, the only entrance into the incinerator is a small chute with a grating cover. A series of conveyor belts lead into the chute from the trash crusher. Thus, the trash from the junkyard can be poured onto the conveyor belt, crushed up enough to fit through the chute and into the incinerator.

How large is the grating? Is it screwed shut or welded shut? After I've figured this out, I go and look at the generator.

Victoria: "What an awful smell. This camp keeps getting worse and worse. I for sure won't recommend this camp to any of my friends anymore. They should have put more work into it. I'm going to give it a negative review now."

The grating is about as large as a queen-sized bed. It is welded tightly onto the incinerator, making it difficult to tear open.

The generator is connected to various turbines. It uses energy from the turbines to generate electrical power. Various wires are connected to the generator which extend through the walls of the building. Looking back on it, you saw these wires hung through the trees on your way here.

Due to horrible timing on someone's part, Mion and Victoria emerge from the other entrance.

Victoria: "Hey there Ozaki, nice to see you again! This camp isn't much fun is it. There is nothing really nice inside there, just super dark and smelly."

Mion: "noooo Victoria waaaittt."

Ozaki: "Rika's gang? I don't know who exactly you are talking about, however it is impossible that Rudolf, Lucas, Kedge, Blake, Kirigiri, Mion, Victora or yourself could be inside that building at this moment.

So logically speaking 'Rika's gang' must be herself and then that Philip and Dosselwhatever guy? Heh, I think I'll take my chances. Thanks for the warning."

You spend the next hour searching the junkyard. You find, among other things:

Broken CRT Monitor
Torn-Up Car Metal
4 Car Tires
Alarm Clock
Broken Playstation 4
Robotic Arm
Bicycle Wheels
3 Gears (small, med., large)
Various LEDs
Resistors
Capacitors
Nuts and Bolts
3 Rolls of Copper Wire
Broken Radio
Shards of Glass
Soldering Iron and Solder
Broken Motherboard

Last but not least you find a statue of a man in a white coat and white hair. You can visibly see some letters as if to mark his name, it starts with a "K" but you can't read the rest...

Monobear: "You know, I always try to do my best, but sometimes I just get distracted. It's really annoying when you're sitting there innocently, and all of a sudden a fly comes and interrupts your thoughts! And it happens again and again! It's almost like they want you to hit them! ...However, if I hit them, I question my morality. What makes it okay to kill bugs, but not people? Why is it okay to torture farm animals in factories to feed ourselves but feel great shame from watching those animal shelter commercials featuring dogs and cats? ...The ramifications of this double standard plague my thoughts too often."

((And so ends Day 1. That took way too long. I'll try and speed up the posting, but you guys better get killing each other soon. Or else we won't have anything to solve! However, you all did a good job exploring places. I look forward to a calmer playing speed... hopefully, less posts with more meaning, allowing the passage of in-game time to go faster. I've noticed that activity is at its highest from 7-12 and 16-20 board time, so perhaps you can plan ahead to post then. It's good to take a break from posting every now and then.))

Suddenly the TV turns on, and you see Monobear on the screen.

"Attention, you bastards! A body has been discovered! Following a brief period of investigation, we will commence our camp trial!

Let me explain the supplementary rules regarding 'graduation'!! The fact that 'someone who kills another can graduate the school' remains unchanged, but... There is one more clause to that rule that must be checked, right? It’s no good just killing someone. You must hide what you’ve from everyone else! And so, the system to judge whether that was accomplished or not... ...is a 'camp trial' session we will enact a short time after a killing occurs! This 'camp trial' will commence a few hours after murder takes place! It will be a battle between the 'culprit' who committed murder... And the 'innocents' - the rest of you students!!

During trial, you will get a chance to debate 'who among us is the hidden killer' among yourselves. The result will be decided by vote, held at the end of the trial session. And then, if the answer you reach is the correct one... The culprit who disrupted public order will be 'punished', and the rest can go on living our camp’s communal lifestyle. On the other hand, if the wrong person is voted for as the culprit... The real culprit who committed the crime stays alive, but all the innocents will be 'punished'. If that happens, that will also be the end of our communal lifestyle, of course!

If I may speak bluntly... I’m talking about execution, of course! Execution means execution. Eh-kse-kyu-shon. Zap-zap in the electric chair! Choke-choke from poison gas! Maybe I’ll tear your body up in a hurricane storm! Judging people is a duty not to be taken lightly. Your very lives depend on it! Those are the rules of the 'camp trial'!!

Isn’t it time you start your investigation into who the culprit is? This is a file I’ve written, containing details about the body. It’s name is... ...The Monobear File!! It didn’t escape me that I’m dealing with a bunch of amateurs here and there’s a limit to what you can learn from examining the body... So instead, I gathered up technical details like the circumstances and cause of death for you. Isn’t that handy?! Aren’t you dying to know how I know the cause of death? I saw the whole thing happen through the surveillance cameras! I’m a first-hand witness!! Anyways, good luck with your investigation! It’s not like you have any choice! Well then, I’ll see you in a bit at the camp trial!"

MONOBEAR FILE: The victim is Drosselmeyer. The time of death was around 11:45 PM. The body was found in his room. Cause of death is a wound to the face made by a sharp object. Other than that, there are traces of damage to the head and right leg.

For purposes of investigation, it seems Monobear has disabled the door's lock. Aside from that, nothing seems out of place about the door.

Upon entering you find Drosselmeyer's corpse lying on the floor. The dresser drawers are all open and are empty. The table is on its side, and the pillows and blankets on the bed are in disarray. The bathroom's door is open; the curtain is open and the shower pointed toward the door. Most notable is an electric generator sitting in the center of the room plugged into an outlet.

Ozaki: "Hey mechanic dude, how does this generator work? I'm terrible with machines so if you can find a way to make the lights flicker with this thing you'll help solve this whole case. Got it?

"O-okay! Right!"

I investigate the generator, and try and suss out it's general purpose in the room, before attempting to use it to trigger the circuit breaker for the room. I then begin addressing Kedgeworth

"I'm afraid I was tinkering with some odds and ends from the scrapyard from about 10 P.M onwards in my room. In other words, I don't have an alibi between then and when I got to the cafeteria.

I can help with the murder weapon though! Well, maybe. I know for a fact that Kirigiri and Mion were amongst the people that took knives from the kitchen early on the first day. I got there before most of the others, but those two had beaten me there. Mion warned me about Kirigiri, and when I went to double-check what she said, I noticed that two knives were missing instead of one. I'm sorry I can't be of more help!"

So, if you cut the power lines between here and the scrap yard, the dorm goes into a power cut, right? That means everything, lights, locks, all of it is gone until the backup generator kicks in. I'm guessing, if you had this hooked up beforehand, you could cut the power lines, then switch it on for a brief power cut... But why the hell would you want to do that?

I take another look at the generator. Are there any other cables running from it? Are there any marks on the floor showing if it's been moved?

You arrive at the crash site. The broken helicopter still sits where you last saw it, smashed to pieces into the ground. Looks like everyone else has arrived.

Monobear: "Upupu... Is everyone here? If that’s the case..."

Suddenly, you feel the floor below you rumble like an earthquake. The ground moves down, and once you're several feet underground, two metal plates close off the ceiling. You're in an elevator. The rough metallic sound of the elevator reverberates as you travel downward. As if to compliment the mood, the elevator kept tumbling on down and down. Finally, the elevator stops, and everyone goes through a single door...

Monobear: "Nyohoho! You’re finally here! Well, what do you think? Isn’t this just like a courtroom? The scenery is on par with a Hollywood movie, isn’t it? Well then, everyone - please take the seat with your name written on it. Hurry up! Hurry up!"

You do as Monobear says and go to your designated seat. The seats are arranged in a circle so that everyone is facing each other. You notice there are two extra seats with the names "Dark Kamijou" and "Wright" written on them, for a total of 14 seats.

Monobear: "Upupupu... Let's begin!"
