Andy whispers to you as you head away from the group.

"You see, I'm going to dig a hole under the fence. I can't have you throwing my tools away before then. But it's also dangerous. This seems almost too easy. There are probably traps and I'd rather not be a sitting duck.... to the bear or any of the other students."

Kai's expression didn't change as he led her outside to see the whole. She crossed her arms behind her back, nodding approvingly. "I see," she said. "Clever. It is likely a trap, but you are doing well in testing the boundaries. Shall we keep up our charade to avoid drawing attention once we return?"

"Sounds good. I'm counting on you to keep me safe. And not kill me...."

Andy starts to head back to the others, and you do too unless otherwise stated.

Kizami enters the cafeteria and begins eating, after a while he comes over and talks to Aurora for a moment. They are close enough you overhear.

"Hello, Miss Aurora, if you don't me calling you that? What do you make of Monozaki's announcement?

Do you think anyone will attempt a murder with no visible way out of this? It seems hard to believe since that's about our only motive at this point in time, but I wager that he might try something if nobody makes a move, which means that we need to think of a plan of action before that happens."

Aurora smiles. "I don't mind what you call me, as long as you're nice about it. As for the announcement? I don't make much of anything of it. Like you say, I'm not all that worried that we'll start popping off and murdering people."

She takes her last bite of salad, then stretches. "I mean, aside from the fact that we're in a place we don't know with a bunch of strangers, this is a pretty comfortable location. I'm planning on continuing to look around, see what there is to see. Just because all the bear's totems have been found doesn't mean we've seen it all, after all. Maybe there's a way out he doesn't know about or hasn't thought of."

Kizami smiles in turn. He is finishes his food now and bids the group farewell. He then leaves the cafeteria.

After a few minutes Aurora gets up too. "Well, if you'll excuse me, I think I'm going to continue looking over this place. After all, totems or not, there's things to see. Perhaps yet another way out that even the bear doesn't know of. Still, even without, I can't say I'm particularly displeased by the surroundings. You all are more than welcome to come with, if you want." As she says this she gives you in particular an expecting smile.

She then leaves the cafeteria as well.

Andy turns to you before leaving and says, "Meet at the hole in 5 minutes? I need to check something real quick." He probably means the hole he dug in the garden.

You are currently alone in the cafeteria.

Kai was not very welcoming of the other newcomer, apparently thinking that every single person was now a threat to Aurora's safety. This was her job, after all. If she appeared intimidating, perhaps others might think twice before acting.

She was thinking of following Aurora, but Andy's offer made her change her mind. She would agree, meeting him out at the hole at the designated time while keeping watch like a statue.

You head out and don't see anyone else on your way.

Once there you see Andy and Mori in conversation in the garden. Mori goes over the shed before noticing you. The garden looks watered and the weeds have been cleaned up since last time.

Kai emerged from where she had been watching, though in honesty she had not been trying to hide. Bodyguards never hid, after all.

"The ultimate botanist?" Kai asked sternly, nodding. "Good. Andy, my apologies for my earlier actions."

Mori returns with a shovel in hand.

"All ready now. Shall we head to the tunnel?"

You and Andy also grab a shovel. "Ladies, let's dig some holes!" he cries.

You push aside the weeds and begin to dig down. The three of you start working together to dig which makes it go much faster. Andy easily throws the dirt out of the hole and into the garden. Now 3 meters deep you begin to question how you will get back up.

You all start digging to the east as it is the closet way to the fence until you come across a wall made of the same material as the fence. Looks like it goes underground too. Nobody can seem to make a dent in the wall. Looks like you won't be able to escape that easily.

Mori takes a bit of a break while Andy and you continue digging for a bit before realizing the whole cage/fence structure likely goes all the way under as well. Completely enclosed the area as if they anticipated someone would try to dig their way out.

Andy kicks the fence. "Dammit. They anticipated me digging down here. How is burying a fence this deep even possible?!"

He sits down and folds his arms, thinking. "Total defeat. Though I did get to spend time with you, Mori, my dear."

"That's okay... It was quite fun to watch you dig. But we're in a rather deep hole now, aren't we? How are we going to get out?"

"Digging is my specialty. I can dig a staircase or a ramp with ease."

The group heads back to the starting area and he digs a staircase up for everyone to get out. There is now a giant pile of dirt next to the hole as you finally step out.

You notice that it appears to be getting darker. Nighttime is likely almost upon you.

Andy yawns. "Wow, time flew by while we were digging. Kai, did you want to bury these tools to prevent their use as weapons? We can grab all the extras in the shed too."

It had been a long and difficult task, and seeing the way Andy dug only improved Kai's image of him. He was not near as inane as she'd imagined... but he was still shameless. "We could find a place to bury them, but you may be trusted with the tools of your trade. Perhaps keeping a shovel locked in your room to retrieve them would be useful. Or, should you need assistance, we could move all of them to your room."

"Very impressive!"

Mori smiles at Andy.

"As much as I love the garden, we should probably head to the guesthouse. It's getting quite late."

Andy responds, "I'll just keep one shovel. We can bury the rest."

Kai nodded to the botanist. The bodyguard didn't say much to her, but that was just how she was.

"I believe that is a wise choice. If only I had several of my own tools...." She trailed off, reaching for the empty holster at her hip. "I will do the digging, as it was my idea. You have done the lion's share." Kai had barely been able to keep up earlier, despite her physical strength.

You bury the tools in the big hole Andy made. Most of the dirt in the pile is still there, but you fill up the hole to the surface and pat down the top. Andy also made sure to procure his single shovel before hand.

Once done, Kai would express her thanks to the other two and go her own way. That was a good start for the night. However, bodyguards were used to living on few hours of sleep each night.

Kai would take up a position by the outdoor theater to keep an eye on things. If nothing was happening, she would start to patrol around the grounds until early in the morning. 4 hours of sleep was her average, given her work, so she had time. After all, everyone's lives were on the line right now. The best thing she could do as a bodyguard was treat nearly everyone as a potential suspect.

You say goodnight to the two of them as you watch them head to the Guest House Building. You start to patrol around when and announcement pops on.

"Alright. It is now Nighttime. I hope you all remember the rules. There will be a wake up call in the morning so you don't miss breakfast. Sleep tight..."

Kai heard the announcement, but made no move to return to the guest house. Her usual sleep schedule was likely interrupted, but 4 hours would be enough.

Besides... she needed to test something. The rules said that students would be FORCED back into their rooms if found wandering without reason. What if her reason was patrolling? What was the extent of the force? How strong was their enemy? The danger to herself would be minimal, as she saw it, and the information gained could be crucial.

So... she patrolled and waited until something happened. Or, at least, until 3 AM. Even the Ultimate Bodyguard needed her rest.

As you don't notice much happening in the outdoor theater and start to patrol you turn down one of the paths near the Guest House Building and suddenly Monokuma is standing there.

He doesn't say anything and is just drinking a pina colada with a straw. The cup starts making slurping sounds from him finishing. He continues to look at you and slurping the last parts of the drink between pauses. He then finishes... Then slurps again... Okay now he is done.

"Sup?"

Kai was used to waiting. Most of her clients acted exactly like that, begging for her to start speaking so they could go back to ignoring her.

Once the bear finally spoke, Kai cleared her throat and looked around. Time to start pushing some buttons. "I am patrolling," she answered simply.

BGM: Desire for Execution

As he says this you suddenly sense a presence behind you. A deep growl and the sound of an opening maw. Despite this it sounds more mechanical than what you would expect. You are frozen in place.

Of course, unlike the others you have been trained and you snap out of it, twisting your head around to face whatever it is. However... there is nothing. Despite that, one thing is for sure. In that moment your senses screamed one thing: death.

"Well, that's how it is." Monokuma says matter of fact like. He then walks away with his cup in hand unless you stop him.

Kai knew when death was around the corner. She knew when it was behind her. And yet... it still didn't stop her from freezing in her tracks like an amateur.

But when she snapped out of it, she whipped around, hand going to an empty holster on reflex. Despite her speed, the blur at which she moved, there was nothing. By the time she turned to look back at Monozaki... he was already walking off.

"That's... how it is...." Kai repeated those words hollowly, stunned. But she still had some time to continue patrolling. She would take his advice and not stay out too late, only doing a few more loops before retiring to her room. But, from then on, the instant she sensed danger, she would run.

This wasn't good. Their enemy had the power to kill them at will. Her experiment... had been a brutal, depressing success.

You do a few more laps around and all seems well. The area is much darker around this time and there are a few lights to illuminate the path. The buildings themselves still have lights on, just dimmed slightly. As you head back to the Guest House Building you see Aurora. Although it seems like she too is about to go to sleep and is heading inside the Guest House Building.

Upon seeing Aurora, Kai wasted no time in approaching her. "What were you doing out?" she asked hastily, eyes narrowed and looking in all directions. After what she'd just experienced, she had to make sure that Aurora hadn't gotten herself into trouble. The Ultimate Bodyguard actually looked somewhat shaken, for once.

"Don't worry Kai, I'm fine. The bear hasn't bugged me at all for being out, yet. I just wanted to go for a walk, see what everything looks like at night. Sometimes things can be apparent under a softly glowing moon that we miss in the harsh light of day."

She smiles, but then her smile falters. "That, and my mind is too busy to sleep just yet. Where did the classroom go? How did we get here? Why is the bear so intent on making us kill, and why does he seem so certain we will?"

She sighs and looks at the moon. "My instincts are telling me to be worried, to be on my guard, and I should always trust my instincts, because that's the energies of the universe speaking to me. I just...can't, though. The idea that we'd kill people we just met? I can't accept it. So until my mind and my soul stop disagreeing, I don't think I'll sleep soundly again."

She turns to her friend. "What about you? You look worried. The bear said that we're not allowed to wander around at night aimlessly though, so if you have a reason you should be fine."

It was a relief to hear that she was fine, but it was also worrying. Aurora hadn't been approached even if she had no reason to be out? Was their enemy specifically targeting Kai and ignoring others? Or was patrolling not considered a valid reason?

Kai was lost in thought, showing more worry on her face than usual. "I was patrolling. I was warned not to stay up too late, and... it seems that our enemy is not joking around. There is cause for worry."

Taking a deep breath, Kai nodded to herself. "But worry not, Miss Aurora. If your worries keep you from proper sleep, then I will take them upon myself. Any worries you have will be delegated to me, allowing you your proper rest. This is my job, after all."

Aurora laughs lightly. "If only it were so easy. I know something that'll take both our minds off it, though." She reaches out to take Kai's hand. "Come on, let's go to the Sunshine building. Or one of our rooms if you would be more comfortable there."

Kai just nodded, allowing herself to be led wherever. "The sunshine building will be better," she said simply, keeping an eye out for anything. "Mental health is the most important part of staying safe, after all."

As you turn to leave however you notice Monozaki standing there.

"I think this building sounds better. Getting late after all." He seems more threatening than usual.

"Oh, hello," says Aurora, trying to sound nice but failing. "Do you think so? After all, we have a purpose for going there, so it's not against the rules..." Her voice, though soft, has an edge to it, like she's going to start an argument.

However she seems to relax and pull back. "But maybe you're right. Your room should work anyways, Kai."

Kai's instincts were already on guard, but the bear's appearance made her immediately go on red alert. When Aurora motioned to try and argue with him, Kai was more than ready to jump in... but stopped. Kai may have been an intimidating presence, but she knew her limits.

"Yes, let us go," she said dryly, keeping an eye on their enemy on the way to Kai's room.

Now in your room Aurora looks around before saying "Alrighty. If you would like to, please feel free to take off whatever layers you would feel comfortable with." She smiles happily. "I would like to massage you!" Then, realizing she may have sounded a bit overeager, she dials it back. "If you would like me to, of course."

Kai was never one to be abashed by decency issues, so she removed the several layers of heavy, insulated clothing and lay face down on her bed. "It would be an honor," was all she said.

And, as one could imagine, the knots in her back had knots in their knotted knots. It would be like trying to massage a brick wall into submission.

You instantly feel relaxed as Aurora's fingers begin working on your muscles. Any trauma from the past few moments outside are forgotten in the moment of relaxation. She seems to be using many different techniques to massage your back but you can barely pay attention to the sudden realization just how knotted your body really was. Seems like it is true that extreme relief can feel like pleasure.

After a long time she finishes and you are actually somewhat out of breath. Although it takes you a moment to gather yourself once you do you find that your body feels better than it has in years. In fact you feel almost twice as strong, at least temporarily. While you still don't feel like you could take whatever it was out there, you have come back to your senses. Both healed in mind and body.

This was a whole new world. There were all sorts of things she could use to describe the process, all of which were likely to be misinterpreted by anyone with their mind even close to the gutter, but she said none of them. She just closed her eyes. Was it alright for a bodyguard to be taken care of like this?

Once it was over, Kai felt like a new woman. The worries and fear from earlier were quieter and more manageable, though she still had enough of a self-preservation instinct to keep alert.

"I cannot thank you enough. Truly, I cannot. I will do my utmost to keep you safe... as well as the others. Rest easy. Hopefully my services will grant a similar peace of mind."

She winks, and then says her goodbyes.

You follow Mori and Aurora as they head to the meditation room. As they enter you take post outside in front of the door. You see Andy look out of the cafeteria, it seems he missed his chance to tell Mori he could massage her shoulders.

You are now alone in the hallway.

You notice Hadaka enter the nature room. A while later you hear the door behind you opens and Mori leaves and after a moment Aurora peaks their head out and waves before noticing you.

"Kai!" She smiles. "You know you really don't have to guard me."

You head over to the movies and find them to be 5MC per ticket. You notice two movies are playing, Umineko Chiru Part 2. and Quack Hard, a remake of die hard but with ducks.

You decided to go with Chiru for some reason, despite being a sequel or something. Once inside the theather is just your typical theater with a room for the projection.

You find it hard to understand. There are witches or something, two people named Beatrice. Someone getting forced into a wedding. In any case it seems like it was supposed to be a mystery but you feel like if anything your mystery solving skills went down.

The visuals were good enough so it was something I guess.

"Hmm, seagulls or ducks? Well, I've already seen Die Hard, so I guess a resolved seagull it is. Maybe it's a drama? You can see Quack Hard if you want to though."

She pays for your ticket and checks out the snacks. "No FRISP? Ah well, a girl can dream." She takes some fruit gummies instead, waits if you wants to get some, and heads in.

Since there is noone else she chats a bit with you during the movie.

Once you are out, Aurora looks somewhat shocked. "I...have no idea what I just watched..."

Either way it looks like she has had her fun, and she says we wants to meditate before going to sleep. She asks if you would like to join her.

You refuse and stand guard once again. After a while and the time comes closer to midnight she comes out and you escort her back to her room. Once she is there you two say goodnight and she closes the door.

As you walk away you find some Monocoins in the ivy along the walls.

Suddenly an announcements clicks on.

"Alright. It is now Nighttime. Sleep tight..."

It then clicks off.

Kai will patrol as usual, watching the time until she reaches the point that Monokuma had approached her the night before. She would try to leave before any confrontations this time.

Aurora's words rang in her head. The pressure... wouldn't get to her. She wouldn't snap. Sometimes bodyguards had to make sacrifices... but she couldn't murder in cold blood. Right...?

You do a loop or two around the garden like usual, although eventually you notice Seiko leaving the Sunshine Building. She has a coffee in her hand and looks she is headed to the Guest House Building.

It's pretty clear she is worried you might try something. Unless you stop her she will enter the Guest Room Building.

Kai wouldn't stop her. She was all too familiar with that look of distrust. She'd worked for enough paranoid despots to know that it was impossible to guard someone who was afraid of you.

So for now, she gave a small nod and let the situation stand. Better that Seiko be afraid for her life than wandering around in the middle of the night for coffee.

As you enter the Guest Room Building from south exit you notice Nao enter from the north. He notices you and calls out.

"Yo. A night owl like myself huh? Well you are the "bodyguard" so I get it. I'm going to stay over here, no offense or anything. Have a good night." He then starts to head to his room not getting close to you.

Nighttime is over! Back to the Group Thread!

"I was patrolling around outside immediately after the nighttime announcement was made. During my rounds, I encountered Seiko coming out of the Sunshine building with a cup of coffee, claiming she got headaches without it. Next, I encountered Mori coming out of the Sunshine Building and warned her about staying out too late."

"After midnight, I returned to the Guest House for my own safety. I entered through the south entrance as Nao entered through the north. I gave him the same warning I gave Mori. I then went to my room to sleep."

The body had to come first. She would investigate every detail of it, not at all bothered by the gore or nudity involved. He seemed to be in very, very good physical shape (a fact that literally everyone can attest to whether they like it or not) so Kai would look for signs of a struggle.

The body is lying face up with his legs slightly sprawled out as if he fell over backwards. Around the head area the grass is dyed with blood as it seems to have poured out the back of the head. Closer inspection of the head shows that he has a decent sized indent at the very top of his head that has broken the skin and skull inwards. There doesn’t seem to be any other important injuries on the body.

You notice a woven string like rope made from plant material. It seems it has something to do with the gazebo and is loosely wrapped around his hand. You find nothing on his person, since after all, he is naked.

Kai nodded, inspecting some other things as well. The baskets and logs would be next, since there was no obvious murder weapon.

You look around the area surrounding the body

There is a number of extra logs that match the ones used on the gazebo stacked a little while away from it. Besides it and right beside the body is gazebo of course which you haven't really looked at.

There are few handmade tools like sharpened wooden spears apparently used for fishing since you see a single fish with a hole in it right next to it. There are some baskets beside that that which have been woven similar to the ropes that are filled with blackberries. Near the body is also a partially eaten sandwich. Looks like a nice BLT.

Kai had a few suspicions already. The rope was one thing, but all of this made her wonder what the murder weapon actually was. This was done from behind, to the back of the head, and the victim was no weakling. Perhaps this was done using a trap... and if so, the gazebo was the first choice.

You take a look at the so called gazebo that Hadaka said he was working on. Although it ultimately was left unfinished it is rather well made. It is missing the roof portion which you see next to the structure. It is unfinished and made out of more leaf like branches overlapping one another to reflect rain.

For the main part of the gazebo there are four logs embedded into the ground that have been stripped so they are more smooth. There is a square base for the roof to rest on at the top attached with woven rope to each log (the square on the map). High up near the top of each log are some notches that you assume would be used to tie the roof and logs together and nail the rope into the ground like a tent cover. There are three other woven ropes here as well that match the one near the body.

Next up would be the line next to the body. Kai wasn't sure what it was, of course, but closer inspection would hopefully reveal something.

These seem like they were going to help keep the roof of the gazebo steady. They have been woven out of various plant material seemingly foraged from around the room. There are four in total, one of which is near the body and in Hadaka’s hand. The three together are rolled up neatly, while the one next to the body is lying along the ground.

Kai tried to put herself in the mind of the culprit. The weapon would obviously have blood on it, and since it wasn't obvious so far, the stream was the next step in the plan. They would either wash it off in the stream or just toss it in there.

Hopefully the stream would provide some clues.

As you walk by the stream you see some nice little fishes.

You also happen to notice what looks like some sort of tool. It appears to be a stone axe. It looks rather well made with some woven string wrapping the stone which has been fitted into a hole made in the wooden handle. Although that is what you can make out from here.

Just to check, Kai would use her gloved hands to take the axe and check it against the wound on the back of the victim's head.

Then she would see if any of the ropes looked like they were cut or snapped in any way. Was the axe sharp enough to cut into flesh, or would it be more blunt?

You find the axe matches the indent in the head perfectly.

None of the ropes look snapped. The axe can probably cut flesh with enough force, but it depends if you could call that cutting. One thing is for sure all the logs were cut with this thing judging from the ends of each log.

The murder weapon was just the first step. The site of the murder seemed pretty well explored, so unless Kai was missing something obvious, she would check the surrounding area. Specifically, the cave and the weather panel. So far, there was nothing pointing to any specific individual.

The panel appears like it can change the weather in the room. You see options like cloudy, hazy, windy, stormy, etc. However you notice it has a log of the past few days. It says it has remained on "Sunny with Slight Clouds" since you all got here on the first day.

You head through the bushes and forest to the very back of the room where you find the entrance to the cave. There you can see it goes downwards a bit and turns the corner. It doesn't seem too dark however so you take a peak inside.

As you turn the corner you see a tiny wooden table on top of some tatami mats. There is a kettle and some cups. There is also a shitty looking tv. Oh and Monozaki is there slurping on some instant noodles.

Something tells you this cave doesn't have anything useful in it.

The next thing that Kai would do is look around the Sunshine building in general to see if there were any other traces of clues in other places. Namely, she would look at the place where Seiko had supposedly gotten her coffee.

A few of the coffee packages have been used and thrown away. You do notice the staff room has been unlocked so you take a peak inside. Inside the room there are a number of lockers along the walls, and tables with chairs surrounding it. There are some boxes in the corner with stacks of spare cups and other good used in the coffee shop. There is also a computer although considering what you have heard so far you won't be able to use it to contact anyone. Finally there is a small kitchen with your typical fridge, trash, sink, dishwasher, microwave, and cabinets.

As for the rest of the Sunshine Building you also notice some difference in the cafeteria kitchen. Monozaki seems to keep everything clean each night however you notice some bread crumbs on the counter in the kitchen.

However, with that out of the way, the next thing to do was call on witnesses. She only hoped that they hadn't scattered too far already.

That was Kai's next target: the meditation room. What would the ultimate basketball star want with a place like that? She would look for any proof that he was there the night before. Also make sure that the door has a lock.

Well, that solved that. Nao, Mori, and Seiko all had left behind evidence of their movements the night before. The only other person that claimed to have been out was Aiko.

Kai would head over to investigate the exercise room to see if she could find proof of her testimony.

So, discreetly, Kai went to take a large bite of the BLT. If it was truly drugged, she hoped she would be up in time for trial.

Kai had been assuming the worst, worried about a complete breakdown... and it almost happened. Kai was ready to rush over to her side, like Aurora predicted, but the hand in the air stopped her in her tracks.

"However, you are still here with me," Kai whispered, letting out a small sigh of relief. "And I will do everything in my power to protect you. Teaching you to protect yourself is likely the best option I can give to you."

Kai would get into a ready stance, knees bent and far apart, and she turned slightly sideways. She looked like a snake ready to strike as she lowered her head, eyes shadowed by the brim of her cap. Everything about her exuded a sense of danger, mostly thanks to her confidence and posture.

"Step 1: intimidate your enemy. Be confident enough to make them hesitate. Practice your posture. The best case scenario is not having to fight at all."

Kai relaxed a little, looking less serious. "So... what is your idea?"

Kai's defenses were more about knowledge than anything else. If a bodyguard had to deal with someone in a direct confrontation, they had already failed their job. If Aurora was knowledgeable, she'd likely be able to see right through Kai's style, which focused mainly on intimidation and keeping distance. Nearly all of her counters and movements were nothing but feints, designed to make the enemy back away or hesitate. Kai may have carried an aura of danger around it, but behind that, she was not quite as strong as she appeared.

"Stealing...?" she huffed, pausing with Aurora. "You are correct. However, we are being watched. What if someone notices us stockpiling weapons? They would stockpile their own until we are all armed to the teeth. As a bodyguard... sometimes it is more safe in situations where seeing someone with a weapon will rouse suspicion."

Finally, she pulls herself together and smiles weakly. "Come on, the bear said it's required that we bathe once a day, and I'm for it. Didn't someone say something about massage chairs there too? I think I owe you one."

The sudden announcement sent a chill down Kai's spine. She rested a gloved hand on Aurora's head, trying to think of what to say. Nothing seemed appropriate.

The investigation had to go on, despite what everyone else was thinking and feeling. Time was short.

First off, the body. The file she'd been given left a lot to be desired, as usual. Were there any wounds? Was there an obvious cause of death?

You go up to the body and take a look. Naturally since she was in the water her hair is wet and her towel is soaked. Her towel has slipped off slightly but remains on her person. You notice there is a slight brown discoloration on the towel.

You don’t notice any immediate wounds. Investigating the body more closely you see that under her towel is a rash-red mark going up her back and up to her neck that branches off randomly in a tree like pattern.

You decide to do a quick look around just like the female side and notice there is only one clean towel remaining. There are two on the ground that you know to be from Taku since Monozaki let him dry off and change into his clothing to investigate. There are five towels in the laundry hamper. It seems the one on the top is drier than the rest.

You also take note of the broom in the corner of the room. The broom handle seems somewhat damaged at the top. Close by is the door into the onsen which on the side you can see a slight mark on the door. When placing the broom between there and the wall it seems to block the door from opening.

You head around to the area in the back and sure enough you can see the gap here. There is nothing that stands out right away, but you notice there are some markings in the ground. You would say car tire tracks but they are much smaller. It looks like something with wheels moved back here at some point. You follow the tracks a bit until you notice they start to get lighter as the ground gets harder until being barely visible once on the main area pathways.

Sure enough it smells like gas... it did not during the exploration phase. Looking inside you see the tank is nearly full of gas. The generator itself is a fairly solid device that would be hard to lift. You notice on the side of it, it boasts being a very silent model that can run without much noise. It has long output cables that come off the generator and can reach fairly far.

After Nao's execution, Kai would slip aside into a corner by herself. She would look around suspiciously before speaking quietly.

"A chance to escape...." Kai grit her teeth and opened her tablet, motioning for the others to do the same. "Shall we work together in solving them?"

"I am simply thinking!" she answered all too quickly, starting to pace back and forth like an old-fashioned detective. "This is not where my talents lie, so perhaps you are right! Or left! Whichever is not right, since right is not correct!" The Ultimate bodyguard then began to grumble to herself in German, continuing her pacing. Left, right, left, right....

"Yeah, I was thinking that before," said Aurora. "I've been trying to think of a place where it's impossible to turn right, or where turning left repeatedly gets you to a certain spot, since correct never makes a right, but I can't seem to think of one."

She sighs. "It's possible something could be in one of those, but at the same time, we might need to be somewhere outside, so that we can then face away and see the Moonligh-"

She pauses, and her eyes widen. "Hold on. The Moon would be assumed to be the eclipsing body, sure, but it's only an eclipsing body if it's going in front of the sun. And that means we'd need to be standing so that the Moonlight Building is between us and the Sunshine Building, yes? And according to the map on this tablet, that would press us up against the left wall!"

Without further ado, she bolts out the door of the Moonlight building.

Kai gave a visible sigh of relief when Aurora started putting things together. Relieved to simply follow and protect, which were the two things she did best, Kai ran outside after her, making sure that Andy was with them.

Now Kai had to come up with something encouraging off of the top of her head, and just spoke what came to her mind. "Then go back to what you were doing. The moon is our guide. Lots of left. We cannot give up yet!"

The silence dragged on. Nobody seemed to have the motivation to keep going. Was a riddle all that it took to make them feel so helpless, even after everything that they had been through? Kai herself couldn't do much with riddles... but that didn't mean she couldn't try.

"Both of you, come with me. Even if we cannot find anything to help, we can still search this entire complex if we must! We have searched one building, so now let us search the next!"

If they showed any signs of following, Kai would spin on her heel and march back through the Moonlight building to the Sunshine building. She was completely clueless, but... she couldn't stand there and let everybody wallow like this.

When called upon, Aurora doesn't react for a moment. Then, pressing up against the wall, she slowly stands, then twists and leans back against the wall.

"Nothing for it but to try what we can, though, eh? Alright, here's all of my thoughts: discarded hopes and dreams could refer to the Nature Room and the unfinished gazebo, two wrongs could be the theater, or more specifically the trial room underneath it, since murderer and punishment were there, plus it's the only round building in this area, which makes things like left and right sides difficult... Gah, I don't know! You're right Kai, if nothing else we can look. Sunshine first."

You head to the sunshine building with Aurora and Andy. It's sure a sunshine building.

The group decides to check everyone's rooms in the guest house. To your surprise it seems that the rooms for everyone who has died are unlocked. There is nothing in Hadaka's room, and Nao and Seiko only have totems they found, however searching Mori's room you find a suspicious card key that reads on it "Disabled until the 4th round". You can't tell what it would be used for.

You can assume after you discuss what you found in the rooms you find something riddle related by the fountain.

While you guys discuss this you head over to the fountain and find what you presume to be related to the riddle.

Going around the back there is a little flap that lifts up and underneath is some panel that looks like a code lock of some sort.

There are seven wheels in total and they are all showing moon symbols. You notice there is a button presumably to enter a combination and a counter at the top with the numbers 02. Flipping through the wheels shows there to be a total of 7 symbols for each one that are as follows: moon, inner tube, sun, desk, pillow, cleats, hammer.

She looks around, and then points over towards the desk and staff room. "That looks like somewhere that might have answers." She goes and checks the desk but doesn't find much. The staff room doesn't open.

Kai rubbed her head, wandering around. "Seven...? Why seven? Why those symbols? Something about escaping, and... wait!"

Kai's eyes brightened up as she had a brilliant idea. "The totems! That bear said something about them being related to escaping!" Kai would dash upstairs in a blur, running up into her room and throwing open the door. She burst out in a flurry, slamming the door behind her and waving one of the totems around wildly.

"This is it, the key!" she shouted... and immediately begin to thrust it up against random parts of the statue. "Where does it fit, where?!" she seethed, apparently thinking she was on the right track.

Aurora leaves for a moment to find another totem and returns after a while frantically running back to the fountain. "First found was the basement of the moonlight building. Second was the one in the fountain, the guest house, where we sleep. Third was my meditation room, Sunshine building. Fourth was with the sports equipment. Fifth was in the pool. Sixth was...staff room of the onsen. Seventh was yours in the hardware store, Kai. Moon, pillow, sun, cleats, inner tube, desk, hammer. That damned bear set the combination right before the start of this round!" With that, she had the wheels set, and slammed her palm down on the button.

The counter goes down to 01, however you hear a little chime and then the door opens with a click. Inside is a tablet, a key, and two devices that, although you may have never seen before in real life, are pretty clearly what you would describe as a bomb complete with it's own detonator.

Picking up the tablet you find some notes in a file on the device. It says that the key will let you pass through and lock/unlock the gates between areas if you wish. The bomb can be detonated wirelessly from anywhere in the facility. The bomb itself is strong enough to kill instantly at point blank range, even from a slight distance it is clear it would do damage.

You can assume the other two beside you were reading and know this information as well.

Kai was just about to cheer for Aurora when she solved the riddle, but then they realized what their prize was.

A bomb.

Kai's instincts kicked in, her hand twitching. She almost reached for the detonator herself, safeguarding it from anyone else, but unless someone else made a move, she would hold herself back and tighten her gloved fist. Assuming nobody reached out to take the dangerous, terrible weapon, Kai would remain still and speak.

"He... truly did make a mistake by putting the three of us together," Kai would whisper. "Do you think... the other group will find something similar?"

Kai moved like a bolt of lightning, her instincts taking over when Aurora reached out to take the bomb, key, and detonator. She immediately snatched the detonator, not even thinking about who was grabbing it, and took a step away with it, just to be sure. She left the bomb and the key, of course.

Suddenly realizing that her actions might be surprising, Kai tried to appear calming... which only made her look uncomfortable. "Apologies, but... we must be careful with this. We must dispose of it."

This... was bad. Kai had never seen Aurora act like this before, though one memory was still fresh in her mind. Despite the raw emotion in her voice, Kai couldn't help but see the logic in it. This was a life or death situation... and she'd been in plenty of those.

Looking over to Andy, Kai took a deep breath. "Underground detonation could work," Kai said, half trying to derail the conversation, but knowing it was pointless. "But considering how this game has gone... it is likely that the other group has a weapon of their own."

It was at this point that Kai realized something. Her eyes lit up and she nearly let her cap slide off before she picked her head back up. "Wait, Aurora, it's... it's actually a contradiction. We can't threaten anyone with this. If we were to detonate this bomb and kill someone... there would be a class trial, wouldn't there? And we would have to sacrifice the person who detonated the bomb! The class trial... the class trial is its own mutually assured destruction!"

"That's exactly it. There's no reason to even use it as a weapon because it would be too obvious as to who used it.

Besides, we don't even know whether or not that detonator matches that bomb! These areas are identical. The other side probably has a bomb and detonator too! Without confirmation from the bear, we can't even be certain that our detonator matches our bomb!"

"They...might have the remote for this..." she asked, hoarsely.

Sitting down at the edge of the fountain, she set the bomb down gently. "...Fine," she said quietly. "Take it, bury it. Don't try to blow it up or you might end up a murderer."

She sniffed and a few tears started to roll down her cheeks, though it was fairly clear that she was trying to hold them in.

Andy's observation made Kai immediately feel foolish, eyes honing in on the bomb that Aurora was carrying. They were already walking an emotional tightrope, but now they had to figure out whose bomb went with whose switch!

Thinking as quickly as she could, Kai ran to pick up the bomb that Aurora set down. She wanted to say something. She wanted to comfort Aurora... but the words wouldn't come out. Her instincts were stronger, and they were telling her to run and put the bomb away. Emotions were unnecessary. They got in the way.

So Kai, tongue-tied and unable to give Aurora anything but a worried look, Kai sped off out of the building. Why was her stomach churning? Why did she feel so heavy? The bomb could explode at any minute, and she had to focus on that.

When you suggest taht she looks a little oddly at you, but then gave a very small smile. "Yeah, you're right. I'll be just fine." She reached out and patted your back, and you feel her do something and you instantly feel a lot more calm.

She turned to Andy, the tiredness once more apparent in her features. "Come on Andy. Let's go see what we can get out of them. We'll figure out what to say as we go along." She leans over and snags the key from where she'd tossed it.

There were so many things that Kai wanted to say in order to make things better, but she couldn't find a way to say them. Most of her job as a bodyguard involved not speaking, so... talking to people was difficult. Aurora was the closest thing Kai had to someone she could hold a conversation with.

But that pat on the back somehow made things better. The tension left her body, almost making her drop the bomb, but she steadied herself. She was about to turn and go when Andy insisted that they bury it together.

Kai took a deep breath, pausing, and then nodded. "I... see. I will let Andy lead the way, then, as he knows the best spots to dig. I... I have an idea." She didn't explain it just yet, but perhaps it would be best to do this with all three of them in the loop.

Before Kai and Aurora left the room, Kai would move to take a few potshots at one of the training dummies, just to get a feel for the airsoft gun. She knew it wouldn't be any use, except for a threat, and she prayed that nobody would be able to tell it from a real gun.

"I would imagine that the others have explored quite enough already. And... I should let you know. Taku knows everything. I tried to salvage what I could, but I believe he knows that we have the bomb. Aiko, too. In fact... I wouldn't be surprised if they all knew."

Andy follows you to the building and upon entering you notice smoke clearly coming from Nao's room. You head over and can see the door has been blown off its hinges somewhat and is now open with the room itself charred. Investigating inside the room itself reveals that there is no actual body. In fact nobody is in the room. However the damage is clear it does indeed look like a bomb went off here as some of the walls are nearly falling apart and the bed and furniture are completely broken. You see the totems you found a while ago in the room charred black, however there are some unsual large pieces of black fabric burnt to a crisp.

You wait a few moments but nobody else comes. You aren't sure but considering the explosion was somewhat audible from where you were outside it's possible people may not have heard it depending where they were.

On close inspection it would prove difficult, the door itself has some noticeable black marks on it and you would have to get new hinges.

"Remember when Aiko ripped a door off of its hinge? What if we got her to take one of the other doors and replace it with the one to this room? It just needs to be superficial enough to fool our would-be murderer into thinking that the door has not been harmed. I will stake out an empty room across the hall, and if we find someone trying to open Nao's room...."

Kai looked at him for confirmation. She was not used to acting on her own without orders.

As he says this however you notice Aiko, speak of the devil, walk into the building and notice you guys. She walks up the stairs and comes over to you.

"Aiko, I am putting my trust in you. We acquired a bomb and a detonator by solving the riddle of the fountain, but buried it to lure out a possible killer. We failed, and the bomb vanished, and we decided to make sure no one was around and detonated it."

"It was in Sugimoto Nao's room. Whoever stole this bomb will come back for it. What I want you to do, Aiko... is swap this charred door for another one that will not be noticed. Take the door to an empty room, rip it off of its hinges, and put it in this doorway. Disguise it as best as you can. I will stand watch and keep an eye out for who approaches Nao's room to retrieve the bomb, and the door should be enough to catch them in the act. Is this acceptable?"

At first Aiko seems surprised and unsure but it seems your honesty has convinced her.

"O-Okay! If I can be of help," she says clenching her fist to pump herself up. Andy also has no issues with this plan.

Aiko then proceeds to rip one of the other unlocked doors off with ease and you aid her to make Nao's new door as inconspicuous as possible. Overall it looks like a decent job although once someone tries to open the door they likely will notice. All three of you decide to hide and peak out of a door of one of the other rooms and begin to wait.

Kai was quite pleased with the work they had done... but it seemed that it didn't do any good. All of their work to hdie and dispose of the bomb peacefully... and that announcement ruined it all.

Danger flashed through Kai's eyes. Aurora. Was Aurora safe? Had she... failed...?

Without a word, Kai sprinted out the door to go and find everyone else.

Investigation Time

Kai's world spun. This wasn't... real. It couldn't be real. She refused to believe it. One argument... one fight... and...!

A thin string snapped inside of Kai, and all of her restraint disappeared. The Ultimate Bodyguard was momentarily the Ultimate Vengeance. She whipped around and took a a gun out of the holster on her pocket. That hadn't been there before they had split up. She waved it around at each of the other survivors, shouting something in German before realizing what she was doing.

"Alibis! All of you! I was with Aurora until she ran off, then Andy and I found the bomb was missing! You, one of you stole it! One of you!"

Kai's voice cracked and her face went deathly pale. "Sh-she...! We were going to trap the next killer... and found Aiko after we heard the explosion...!"

"A-Aurora...!!!"

Andy spoke up, "Alibis, huh? As Ms. Bodyguard said, I had been with her almost the entire time. Aurora was with us too, but we had a bit of an argument and she stormed off alone.

At this point it seems a bit silly to try to hide the bombs, huh? We found one and buried it. It had later been dug up while we were not watching..... Well, we will have to discuss this in detail during the trial.

Once everyone gave their alibi, Kai just shut down, like someone had just flipped a switch. She knew what she had to do. She didn't want to do it... but the motions came naturally. This was the third time, after all. The third time she'd failed to protect anyone.

Kai inspected the body to see if she could somehow find the center of the explosion.

Their clothing and skin have been burned and blood poured out of any un-burnt portions and other orifices. The bed is covered in the sticky excess seeping from the cracks in the skin. All in all this is the most horrific site you have seen so far when trapped here. Her face is almost no longer what you would consider human.

You notice the hand vaguely around what reminds of the pillow. Under the shambles of a pillow you find a broken taser. Seemingly one Aurora was ready to use for self defense.

Judging from the damage you can see the origin was likely right beside the bed where the bedside table normally would be. It is nearly completely destroyed besides the splintered and burnt stump of a table that remains there.
